Seasons

I think that winter is the worst season. Why? Because its so cold and you have to wear boots. Also you have to wear coats and snow pants. Snow pants make you slower and coats make you hot. Some boots make your feet wet if you step in water.

I love summer because it is hot. Lots of people like summer but some people like winter. In the summer you can do so many things.  You can play in the sand and dig for rocks. Lots of people go to the park more in the summer so you have more people can play with.
Fall is a very colorful season. The leaves turn all yellow, red, orange and a little green. I like fall a little bit but not as much as summer because summer is very hot and fall is a little cold. In fall we have to start school and start a new year.

Spring is a nice time because all the snow melting. In spring all the animals come out. Also some tree and plants start growing. In spring it rains a lot. I like spring not a lot but a little.
What is your favorite season?

My Dog

On the last day of school my parents took me to the airport.  They told me it was to pick up a package. We waited,it seemed, for hours.  The package finally arrived.  My parents had surprised me with a new puppy.

He already had the name Buster which suited him so I kept it.  When we got him he was three months old and full of energy.  He sometimes pees in the house and we all step in it.  His favourite game is fetch with a ball.  He can play for hours and not get tired.

My dog is full of mischief.  He likes to take things that dont belong to him and run around the house while we are chasing him.My dogs favourite thing to take is my moms insolos from her showes.  Sometimes we have to give him a treat for him to give the insoles.

My favourite thing about Buster is when he greets me when I come home from school.  He showers me with liks and kissies.  It makes me forgot about my day at school.  Also when I am watching t.v. he puts his head on my knee.  Sometimes we fall asleep together.

Even though he is a lot of trouble he has brought joy to my family and my life.  I would encourage anyone to get their own puppy.

Do you have a puppy? Do you want a puppy and why?

Yellowknife

I used to live in Yellowknife.  It was a great place until I went to Edmonton.  Anyway, Yellowknife is in the Northwest Territories.  It takes two days to drive to Yellowknife from Edmonton.  My dad sometimes goes to Edmonton and picks me up.  Then he drives me in this big truck he owns.  He lives in a place not too far from Yellowknife, it's called Dettah.  He lives in a small blue house.  A lot of natives live in Dettah.  I have a lot of my friends there.  My brother, stepmom, stepbrother, and my half sister live there.

My dad took me to Yellowknife this Christmas.  I stayed there for two weeks (for the holidays).  I had my Christmas dinner at my auntie's place.  She has a huge house and the Christmas tree could touch the roof in my auntie's place.

For dinner we had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots with butter, cranberry sauce, tomatoes and a lot of pumpkin pie.  A lot of my relatives came that day and my brothers and I had a big Nerf war.  It hurt a lot because one of my brothers shot me in both of my eyes!  I got a lot of presents like an iPod Touch, Lego sets, a DJ set for my iPod, one poster and books.

Where have you visited?

My New Year's Resolutions/Goals

It's that time of year, AGAIN.  Time to make a resolution or goal and play a little game to see how long I can keep at it before it's too hard to continue.  Does it sound like I have little or no confidence in myself this year?  Does it sound like I've been down this road one too many times?  Well, that's because I have.

Every year I have the best intentions and set this lofty goal that I know I'll likely never stick to.  Last year it was to spend less money.  For the month of January 2011, I was pretty good and only spent money on the necessities such as mortgage, food and gasoline for my car.  But if I were to be honest, my month of austerity didn't last very long and it wasn't long before I was buying my favourite things again (shoes and handbags! - :)

For this year I think I will choose to set a goal that improves my life but will still be reachable.  This may sound silly but I think I will try to drink more water this year.  Drinking water will improve my health and it's a lot cheaper than other drinks.

For my students, a resolution or goal will usually be involved with your learning.  Try to think of one or two things that you can and want to achieve for the rest of this year.  It could be something such as always remembering to push my chair in or sitting properly in my chair.

What are your goals or resolutions for this year?
