Halloween Candy

Is it unfair that you spend a lot of time trick-or-treating even when some people only give you one piece of candy and when your parents have to look for little holes in every, single piece?

And some parents take half of it and eat it!  Some parents, once they have sorted it, give the good ones all back (like mine). And last, but not least other parents take it away and give it as a reward.

So if you were a parent what would you do with he or her or their Halloween candy?

  1. This post brings back great memories, The Big D!

I fondly remember going trick-or-treating with my sister when we were younger. We would go around the entire neighbourhood, even when it was freezing cold out. We had so much candy that we would have to dump a bag at the house and then go out again.

My sister and I sorted our own candy. We usually ate all the stuff that we didn't really like first and then saved the best for last. Our candy lasted for a really long time mostly because we got so much of it.

  5. I just trade in my candy for a toy, so that makes it better way to spend time instead of trick-or-treating and then having it all thrown away. Because THAT'S, a waste of time. And there you go. that's what I do with my Halloween candy.

  8. My mom never does anything with my candy unless she wants some, then she just takes some from me I don't get mad or anything but if she ate most of the bag then I would get really mad but I would never get mad. My candy never runs out because it lasts until next Halloween, which rocks.

  9. My mom would just let me keep it and I would eat it in the morning with my friend Mally. My candy would last like 2 or 3 weeks. One day I was treak-or treating and there was a huge set up. I got a lot of candy from it.

  10. When I get home from trick-or-treating my parents take a quarter of my candy and save it for their selves. My candy lasts for a year. I always have left over candy next year when I go trick-or-treat. Note:my sister is mad because this is the last year she is going trick-or-treat.

  11. On Halloween my parents always take most of my candy. I get to pick one or two pieces of candy and eat them at school. My candy does not last very long unless I have something like Nerds or a candy necklace. My sister's candy always lasts pretty long because she always sucks on it. I don't know about my other sister's candy because this is going to be her first Halloween.

  14. Okay so this is what me and my parents do with my Halloween candy after I go trick-or-treating with my brother (well this is what I do with his candy because his only two years old) we always just dump all our Halloween candy on the floor from my pillow case and his little pumpkin bucket and see how much we got then I eat like six peices of Halloween candy while watching Halloween specials on the TV. Then from that day on my mom (after I go to bed) always and I mean always sneaks up to my stash of candy and always ONLY eats the chocolate (its not a surprise, she always does it.) and when I want a piece of candy she always has to check if there is holes in it (and in case you're wondering parents always checks if there's holes in the candy or chocolate is because it could be dangerous if there IS a hole in it).

The way my family rations the candy is I eat one piece on a weekday and two pieces on the weekend. My candy COULD last until Easter but my mom always throws away the rest if there's no chocolate or chips or things that she likes or that are my favourites so it usally lasts until March or February or even April (sometimes, but not usally)

  16. What my parents do well I will tell you. My parents A.K.A. my {dad} more specific answer, you're welcome. So baseckly my dad asks for all my good candy. He asks for my Whoppers, my chocolate and Nibs. Even though I love my dad soooooo much I don't want him to steal it or take it away from me.

How my candy is rationed. Well I like to save my candy by only eating about 5 to 7 pices of candy a day because I want to save it so it lastes a long time.

  19. My parents do one thing with my candy before I can eat it: they check for holes.

In my house the way we ration it is we trade our candy then we sort it. It takes about one year to eat it all.

  20. My parents let me eat some of my candy and then tell me to put it away. I love candy. My favourite candy to eat is:

    *chocolate(Hershes)
    (Twix)
    (Caremell)
    *Metoes
    *Moo's
    *Loly-pops
    Thats my favourite candy!

My candy lasts for a while. My parents tell me to eat 1-5 stuff out of my bucket and then tell me to put it away. My candy lasts for 2 months (I think). I go trick' or 'treati-
ng in the mall. Last year I went to Bonnie Doon Mall, I am not sure which mall I am going to this year.

I my self hate cold Halloween's then you can't show your full costume and you don't get as much candy or full chocolate bars and sometimes you don't even get any candy.

  26. Well my parents lets me at least have 20 candy (of mine) a day but if it is my siblings candy. I'm not allowed to have it. Sometimes my dad will eat 5 in my house then take my candy into the garage to eat it.

One time when I was 6 I was playing pass with my brother and we heard a noise in my garage and it was my dad stuffing my candy down his mouth. My face was really red and I started crying and so he bought me a giant pack of Twizzlers and Doritos. I

t usally takes till February to get all our candy eating or thrown out because we have six kids in my family and we all go trick-or-treating for 4 hours strait no bathroom brakes or we lose candy.

My older brother gets more candy then me because he goes to so much street's that I did not know that even was there! The candy I mostly have all my pop and chips and chocolate bars stolen from my dad or brothers because they eat all there good candy in like 2 days so they have no good candy left so they take what's left of mine!:(

  27. I LOVE CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that Halloween is awesome! Because we get so much free candy like one time me and my brother got 4 WHOLE BAGS OF CANDY AND IT WAS SO AWESOME! But my mom always sorts my candy with non artafishal candy and artafishal candy and my parents eat some of it too.

This Halloween my nabers are having a birthday party and we are going trick or treating and we will eat lots of cake and candy we will also watch a scary movie. I love the really good taste of candy and I probably could not live without candy well I could but I just love candy.

What I dont love about candy is that sometimes it can give you cavitys and that is not good. But I still love the taste of candy and I always will. Do you like candy or do you just want to be tricked no candy and you will be tricked.

    1. As a parent of two trick-or-treaters, I think I have discovered a fair method to getting my share of Halloween candy. If a candy wrapper isn't thrown into the garbage and I end up cleaning it up, I choose a piece of candy from my child's stash for myself. I've really started to enjoy cleaning the house!

Enjoy all that Halloween candy but remember to brush your teeth.

  29. Where I come from, we don't really celebrate Halloween, but ever since we moved to Canada our kids and I love it. We enjoy decorating the house and all the excitement. I don't care a lot about the candy and chocolates, simply because I don't like them that much.
