Star Wars: The Force Awakens

December 30 was the day I went to go to the movie theater to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I went with my cousin Aden because it was his birthday.

There were characters like Hans Solo and Princess Raia, and last but not least Darth Vader’s son but I don’t know his name.  After the movie we went to McDonald’s and got something to eat.  I got a Big Mac.  Yuum.

Right after that we went to a Star Wars parade at the Mary Finlay Park.  It was so cool!. I saw Darth Vader himself and once again Princess Raia.

The next day we had a whole Star Wars themed day.  My mom and my dad set up everything and my sisters helped as well.  There was Princess Raia toys.  Outside there was Darth Vader with a lightsaber  and it was the color red.  My friend dressed up as Darth Vader and scared me so much!.  Waaa!

He also told me that Hans Solo died and that made me sad again.

Have you seen the movie and what did you think about it?  What kind of movies do you like and why?  What is your favourite movies and why?  Describe your favourite scene or character from a movie.

New Year's Eve

On New Year’s Eve, I went downtown to see the fireworks there.  I was so excited it was going to be 2016 after 12:00 a.m.  There was a huge ice place to skate on but because I didn't know how to skate, there was little chairs there that you could take on the skating rink.  You could sit down on them and someone else could push you.

I went there with my family and my friend Yalda.  We went there at 9:00 p.m.  Me and my friend went there and took turns to sit on the chair and skate.  I saw my other friend from my school, Purple Tacos.  She had skates on. Me and Yalda chased her on the skating rink a lot.

There was a station there where somebody paints your face and there was a long table full of craft supplies and we could make crafts with them.  After two hours the fireworks were about to start and we went to the front.

There was a billion people there and police in case anything went wrong.

We counted down from 10 to 0.  The fireworks went off in the sky!  Bam! Boom!  It was beautiful and wonderful.  It was ten minutes long and I really enjoyed the fireworks.

We didn't bring our car because there is no parking place so we took the bus when we went there.  Now that we're going home we still needed to take the bus.  On the way home, me and my grandpa played all the way home in the bus.

I was sooo tired!  It was 1:00 a.m. and me and my friend had a sleepover that night and now it is 2016!!!!!

Have you ever gone downtown to see the fireworks and was it good?  Who did you go with and why did you go there?  What did you do before the fireworks started?

Any Goals for 2016?

At the beginning of each new year, many people vow to make changes so that they can live better lives.  These changes are often called New Year's resolutions.  A resolution is a decision to do or not to do something.  Some resolutions include being more organized, eating more healthy and exercising more often.  People are always eager and have the best intentions when making resolutions.  Yet, these same people find these challenges so overwhelming that they fail within the first three months.

Personally, I have long decided that making resolutions is not a very useful exercise for me.  Firstly, I have so many things to work on to improve my life that it is too much and I can't focus on one thing.  Secondly, the resolutions I pick are too large to overcome quickly.  Like everyone else, I enjoy the instant gratification and working on these resolutions more often than not takes a very long time.  Lastly, I have made the same resolution numerous times with the same outcome.  Failure.

For this year I have decided to focus on one major goal or lifestyle change.  Over the years, I have accumulated many items in my life.  I like to buy things.  Especially things such as shoes, handbags, books and skincare products.  They just sit there, collecting dust.  I've spent a lot of money on these things and I've decided that rather than buying more, I need to use the stuff that I have and if I'm not using it, then I need to get rid of it.

Think of it this way.  You probably have tons of toys in your house.  Some of them you play with a lot and some of them you probably haven't played with for years.  In fact, I'm willing to bet that you got even more over the Christmas break, causing you to have even more stuff that you don't play with.  Where are those toys that you don't play with?  Collecting dust in your closet?  I encourage you to go through your stuff and either donate or throw away those items.

We live in a society where it is really easy to start accumulating whole piles of stuff.  Why do we need so much stuff?  Try purging some of it.  You'll feel better, I guarantee it.

Do you make New Year's resolutions?  What do you think about them?  What are some of your goals for this year?
