Smoking
In Health we have been learning about smoking and the effects of nicotine and tobacco. Many of the students in our class have direct contact with smokers, whether it be their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles or close friends. Both before and after each discussion, the students vowed that they would never take up smoking. They have learned some refusal tactics to use should they ever be in a situation where they are pressured by their friends to try smoking. As a final activity, students were asked to use Google Draw to create an anti-smoking poster. Lastly, each students is to write a blog comment describing his or her poster and their thoughts and knowledge about smoking.

My whole family smokes. My dads smokes the most like every two minutes. My mom smokes every 11 minutes. Thats why I never want to go anywhere with my dad or be near him. I'm good with my mom because she uses the fan. I never be with my dad If I don't have to. This may seem sad but I hate smoking. I want to move out as soon as I can.
ReplyDeleteI'm 100 percent sure I will never smoke In my life EVER. I would like to move out like in the country near a college or something like that.
My favourite poster that we made Is Waspy because It has a lot of detail and good installations. Mine Is MrJamHam13 that's mine It's very simple but that's why I like It. I'm saying In the poster If you smoke you're going to die.
Here Is why I hate smoking so much.

2 Bad breath
3 Yellow teeth
4 Lines on your face
5 You look old
6 Yellow finger nails
7 Lung cancer
8 More change of heart disease
9 Have you seen the package?
10 Rat poison
My parents always try to not smoke It has never worked in their life and it's bad when they say they will quit because I get happy and then they don't quit. The reason they can quit Is because the nicotine. It's a very addictive drug.

My poster was the one where there was a whole bunch of UGLY people with super long hair and wrinkles all over their faces. You should be able to tell which ones are who's because there are our screen names on the bottom of our poster. My slogan for my smoking poster was: Quit Smoking! Smoking Kills! Mine doesn't rhyme like some of the other ones, but I think that's fine in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteSmoking is quite a bad thing. Actually, it is not quite a bad thing. It's a HORRIBLE THING!!!!! It actually is. Smoking can give you lung cancer, bad breath, stinky clothes, higher chance of heart disease and the list just goes on. For smokers who are reading this blog comment, this may be tempting to stop smoking. It has TAR IN IT!!! So, it's basically like you're eating a road which is SO DISGUSTING!!! So, ya. Is it tempting? And also there is rat poison in cigarettes.
VERY rarely anybody smokes in my family. Only 2 of my uncles do. One of my uncles, he smokes sometimes in his house or basically wherever he goes. One other uncle, he smokes whenever he's only on vacation. I think.
My mother used to smoke like a VERY long time ago. She just tried it and she got addicted for a while. She doesn't smoke now, which is TOTALLY AWESOME!!! And family friend smokes too. Last night we went to Fargos for dinner and she went outside to smoke. She probably took about 20 minutes to take a smoke outside of the restaurant.
I'm not going to smoke when I'm 18 or older. If I do, I will be super disappointed in myself.
My same family friend that I was just talking about was probably smoking for (I'm just guessing) 6 years. She stopped smoking for almost a year and then she just tried smoking once more. Then she just got addicted again. When it's hard to stop smoking, and you need to, here's a tip. Just buy some fake cigarettes and smoke those. They don't have nearly as much as bad stuff in it as real cigarettes, though. The fun part is, with fake cigarettes, it's easier to blow out smoke out of your nose which is kind of silly but I find that totally AWESOME.
Do you want to get addicted, or just buy some fake ones?

My one is the one with the people on it and the gravestones. My slogan is Quit Smoking or DIE. I chose it because you will slowly die when you start. It also has three questions if you smoke or are just starting. The three questions are Do you want bad breath? Do you want lung cancer? Do you want yellow teeth?
ReplyDeleteMy mom smokes and she will not stop smoking because me and my sister dont do thing on the first command. I have been trying to stop her and still she will not stop! My mom has not tryed to stop smoking and she never will. My mom always smokes only at resturants she stops! My mom does not live with my dad and both of them smoke!
Smoking causes bad breath, wrincles, lung cancer, heart cancer and yellow teeth and fingernails. In cigarettes there is nicotene, rat poison, tabacco and many, many other things. Many people die from smoking in the U.S.A. I will not try but if I do I will not keep going. I will not have friends that smoke because I dont want to enhale second hand smoke all day!

Mine is the one that says Smoking More Like Choking. I chose this slogan because you smoke you will choke.
ReplyDeleteMy dad smokes I try to tell him to stop he says "OK" 5 minutes later he is having a smoke. My mom barely smokes sometimes she will I do not know why.
I can not even know why someone would suck in rat poison. There is nicotine in it so it makes them want one. There are so much more very bad bad bad bad stuff in just one.
I hope I will not smoke because then my dad will beat me.
The pictures on the packages scare me.

Mine is the one with the slogan that says Stop Smoking You Can Die At A Young Age. My picture says if you smoke you can die faster than you were supposed too. My dad smokes but he does not live in my house. It makes me feel sad because he smokes.
ReplyDeleteSmoking gives you yellow fingers and your clothes stink. Also you get wrinkles on your face and you can get heart disen and die. I want to live longer and be healthy. You also get yellow teeth when you smoke.
My uncle died from smoking then my family had to go to his funeral. He smoked so long I do not know how many years he smoked for but it was long.
I am not going to smoke when I am older because I do not want to die. If my friends tell me to try it I will say No. Then I will find new friends then.

My poster is the one that say Smoking Can Make You Have Lung Cancer. I really do not think that people that do not care because I tell my Nana all the time to stop smoking but she does not care.
ReplyDeleteI live in a house with my Nana. I do not like it when she smokes because me and my brother have to open the window. Me and my brother say to her you can get Lung Cancer. She is the one that does not care.
I see people smoke all the time. Smoking can give you Lung Cancer, Yellow Teeth, and Yellow Nails. I will never smoke in my whole live because I have asthma.

My slogan was Smoking Well Get You! Act Quick! I chose that slogan because I couldn't think of anything else. I have breathed second hand smoke from random people and I hold my breath when I see someone smoking.

I'v heard that smoking afeks your whole body with horrible afeks including a ugly face, yellow teeth and fingers. I've heard that people pay money for something that has rat poison and the government is selling it to innocent people AND I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS AND PEOPLE WORK HARD FOR MONEY AND SPEND IT ON CIGARETES THAT HAVE POISON IN THEM LIKE RAT POISON AND THEY PUT NICOTINE IN IT SO YOU GET ADDICTED AND ONE CIGARETTE HAS MORE THAN 4000 TOXINS ALONE. 4000 TOXINS IN ONE SO DONT SMOKE. SMOKING CAUSES MORE THAN 5 DIFFERENT KINDS OF CANCER. DONT SMOKE. THE GOVERNMENT DOSENT CARE. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AND YOU KNOW HOW THEY MAKE ROAD TAR IS IN CIGARETTES. DON'T SMOKE. IT'S A JOKE.

My poster is pink. On my poster I made a small page that said stop smoking. In the poster I have a another poster in it said Be happy man or woman because if you don't smoke people wont run away from you .

I will never try smoking. If I try it my dad will kick me out of the house.
My family don't smoke so I never have an experience of smoking.

My poster has a cigarette + person = dead person. My title is STOP SMOKING. The words I used were DON'T SMOKE, IT CAN KILL YOU. I don't have anyone in my family that smokes. I think it is wonderful that no one smokes in my family. It means that I do not have to breathe it in.

I have two smoking parents. I hate it when my dad smokes and it smells like burnt hair and poop. my dads tongue is more full with white stuff than my pillow no joke.
ReplyDeleteSmoking has 400 or more toxins in one cigarette, witch is pretty sick and I can say the ones that I know, rat poison tar nuclear substances and lead, mercury.
I WILL not try smoking even if my life depended on it. Because it will make your teeth yellow eyes will eventually turn black and blue. The package will even scare you .
My poster is smoking is no SMOKING IS NO CHOKING MATTER. I did not have much time because I forgot to do it on time the packages scare me.

My poster was the one that said Stop Smoking! You Will Die!!! You Won't Be A Regular Guy!!!!!!!!! because you will smoke everyday and you won't have a regular life, body. My favourite one is waspy because he made people ugly and he put hair on them. I said those words because I don't want you to put cigarettes in your mouth and tar.
ReplyDeleteI don't want you to put rat poison in your mouth and die. I don't want you to have cancer, yellow teeth and you can die at a young age. You will die because there is over 100 poison. You will have bad breath and everybody is going to say get a mint.
I would not smoke because I don't want to die and get cancer. I don't want to put rat poison in my mouth and put tar. I would never ever smoke in my life. I ask my dad to stop smoking and he doesn't.

My poster is do not start smoking. I have 5 people in my family that smoke my mom,grandpa,aunt,my step dad,uncle. Smoke it can kill you I had my mom's mother die of lung cancer was very very sad I was 5 year old wean that happened. I have bin try to stop my grandpa,aunt mom, uncle, my step dad for a year now but it not working. I sometimes breathe second-hand smoke by my mom or my grandpa or my step dad.

ReplyDeleteAnd I have lots of experience with smoking because my dad and my mom and I think my sister and I'm not sure but I know that my mom and dad smokes. I tell them not to smoke but they smoke still. I probably will not smoke when I get offered a smoke. And I never thought that we would not write about smoking but I think I did good on it.

ReplyDeleteWhen you smoke it messes with your mind and looks. For example waspy's explains that perfectly with pictures. This unit works great with my family because a lot of people in my family smoke.
I have a big experience with smoking and secondhand smoke. Both my parents try to quit but can't because of stress. First and second hand smoke can be dangerous and make you very very sick. The people that smoke and survive are lucky.
When I am older I won't smoke knowing the consequences of smoking. If I smoke I will try to quit immediately or at least attempt to quit. Smoking can kill!!!!!!!!!

On the poster I made I had a happy face and an unhappy face. The unhappy face was for that you should stop smoking. It is bad for you and you should stop. I have a sigaret on the poster and with this x on it. My slogan is DONT SMOKE ITS BAD FOR YOU. I picked this slogan because I couldn't think of one.

My poster is about not smoking because you can get all sorts of bad things like yellow teeth, bad lungs, cancer and heart disease.
ReplyDeleteYour friends might try getting you to having a cigarette so you can have one with your friends. Or you can say no and close the door on them.
My dad does smoke sometimes but I'm sure he will quit smoking soon.
I want my dad to quit smoking so he can live for a bit longer and not kill him so slowly.
And that means I'm not smoking ever. So I'm trying to make my dad not smoke again if he was smoking. I'm trying to dad to get Nicorette to not to think that he can have cigarettes.

My poster said Stop Smoking You Will Get Lung Cancer. My poster said that because if you smoke you get lung cancer is bad and you die. Your teeth get yellow and your friends will want to make you smoke. If you try smoking you will die but it you don't want don't try at all.

Thanks, everyone, for your interesting posters. I'm glad to see that you understand how dangerous smoking is, and plan to never start smoking. My favourite poster is the one that says, "Smoking? More like choking!" That's catchy, brono!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to say that no one in my family smokes, so I've never had to live with second-hand smoke. Also, I'm glad that restaurants are smoke-free now. Eating food that has been exposed to cigarette smoke doesn't taste as good.
My best advice to you is to have an answer ready for when someone asks you to try smoking. When you're with your friends, it often feels more important to fit in than to do what is right. Unless you know how you will say no, you might end up saying yes just because you don't want people to tease you. So come up with a reason why you won't smoke, and practice it with someone you trust; when the time comes and someone asks you to try a cigarette, you'll know what to say. Though it can feel uncomfortable to be different from others, in the long run you'll be a happier and healthier person for it.
