At my school in grade 6, we go to the Bennett Centre for our science activity, we stay there for 1 and half days.
Their food is so good. We eat cookies for snack, we eat chicken for supper and we eat cereals for breakfast. We have so much fun, at night we are waking people up and they get angry at us…that was fun.
My favourite part of the activity is the Predator and Prey survival game we play in the forest. You are like an animal because if you are a herbivore you have to stay away from the carnivores, diseases and elements. My favourite animals is the carnivores because you have to chase people, and disease and element is kind of same because they can chase all of the animals but you can’t get them…then we go back in the school and we walk far.
I never forget the activities and the foods at the Bennett Centre.

BLOGGER OF THE WEEK
This was also my first year to stay overnight at the Bennett Centre. At first I was surprised, but I did enjoy hanging out with two other teachers until 12:30 a.m.! I could have used a bigger bed though.

Students at our school are fortunate to have this activity each year. The instructors are fantastic and I even learned a few new things. I hope our students can enjoy this activity for years to come.

I loved the Bennett Center but when we did the sevival game I fell down a hill because I tripped on a root a ripped my new swetter. I think the hole thing was fun exsept for when I fell. I loved the food like so many people did to. When we where eating I didnt hear a singal complaint. My time at the Bennett Center was great. I am excited to read what the other grade 6 are going to say.

Their food was really good! It was really fun to serve the food at lunch when I had to. But I think that they don't feed me enough snacks. The only food that I didn't like was the chicken.
ReplyDeleteThe beds weren't that comfy but I am sort of used to those types of beds because I went to camp for a week and I had to sleep on those beds. My roommates weren't the people that I picked but that was fine because they were fun. The people that were in my room all played "Guess Who?", that was really fun.
The "Predictors and Preys" game was so fun! It was really tiring though. While I was running down a hill I got a whole whack of needle things all over!

I agree I love the food!!!! The food was made for kings, so my point is the food is awesome. You woke people up at night.... aww I wish I was there!! I love that games too I was a element and i got like 30 something life points, it was really fun!! But some people go so angry at me because I got them so many times!
ReplyDeleteBut for the learning part of the trip was pretty fun I learned a lot of things I never knew like there was soft wood and hard wood or how nice it is to be in the forest, it's a really good thinking space!!! That's where i go to think now... instead of my bathroom!! TEEHEE!!!

I loved the Bennett Center so much because of the food there and the learning experience, and it was nice because we got to stay there over night, but the beds are NOT the comfiest.

My favorite thing though, was the hikes and climbing the steep hills! I love going outside!
At night time, we got to play games and watch a movie. The movie was not my favorite though.

I agree that it was fun at Bennet center. There was only one thing about it that I did not like and that was having to go in the ravine both days. Their food was great. For lunch we had spaghetti and for supper we had potatos, chicken, and veggies. But we all had rooms where we can chat before lunch and supper. The fun thing about it was that we got to be the people who goes and gets everybody's food.

I agre with you jhepoy_06, the Bennett Center was awsome the prey and predaor game was really fun. I found a secret place were no one knew were I was. But, befor I found the specail spot every one came and got me. But anyway that was the best day ever.
ReplyDeleteThe athabsaca pass was really fun because all of my friends in the group. We had to hold onto ropes with handles that was connected together. We had to go in different ways and strate up hill in the bush. We also had to carry havey things on a narrow path, now that was hard to do.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree, the food was AMAZING! For feeding all those children and making all that food it was great! I would definitely be thrilled to go back... but I'm in grade 6. Boo Woo... :(
But because I was in grade 6, we got to sleep over! YEAH! It was awesome! I had so much fun... and I bet the grade 5's were jealous. Guess you will have to wait till next year... Sorry! :)
The night activities were fun too! When we were all outside, some of us climbed up the hill and looked at downtown. It was beautiful all lit up at night... (thought I would never say downtown was pretty!)
But the best part was when we played Predator&Prey! The was the BEST! I was a carnivore and got 12 herbivores. Yeah! But the walk back was the worst, my legs felt like spaghetti and I was so thirsty! :)-
My point is proved how AWESOME the Bennett Centre is! :)-

At the Benet center, I didn't get to be in a room with any of the people I put on my roommate list, but that doesn't mean I didn't get to be with any of my friends, I got to be with "booda snip" and "nuclear waffle". One of the German people in my room was keeping me up a most of the night, so I didn't get a lot of sleep, so when Mr.teacher man woke me up at 7:30, I wasn't the happiest camper.

On the first day of the Bennet Center we formed bergads and walked up a hill. I was the rookie of the group. It was esay, all I had to do was yell go faster or slow down. The beds had no pillows but they were still comfy. I had a hard time napping because my room mates keep talking. Later I was moved but still I had a hard time napping because my new bunk mates were playing halo! The cookies were nice!

Hello my time at the Bennett center was very eventful but none of it is your business so butt out. Just kidding well I'm not going to spill any of the boys secrets. But I hated the beds I woke up on the ground out of my sleeping bag then I found out that my idiot room mate Touchygiant 33 had opened the window and it was like -4 in there I was practically frozen.

I got realy home sick when I was there and hated the wwwwalk most. [I like cheese pizza.] lunch menu pizza and spagety. supper menu potatos,chiken and breakfast was ceareal I can't say more.

My best part of the Bennett Center was the food. First we had sphagatti with bread, butter, and salad. I had seconds. Then at dinner we had chicken, veggies,plus we had mashed potatoes, gravy, and apple crummble. Then we had to goooooooo!!!!!!!! Then the next day it was the best. We had cookies for snack. Then for the final lunch,the last meal..... PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!Plus every meal,MILK! Then we did some stuff.

We also had to climb to the top and I thought it was pretty dangerous. Then we had to play tag in the woods. CRAZY!!!!! Then we had to find cards in the woods and our team won. I was the captain.

For me it was so fun!!! i got the BEST roommates. But the BEDS were NOT fun every I turned over I was awake. Once druing the night my roommates had a converstion. Then I almost FELL OFF my ladder. In the hike me and my partners saw a BIG FLIPPEN SPIDER (and no it was not flipping)and I scremed my head off(DO NOT ASK WHY). When we were playing games me and two other kids played poker and blackjack.I was the dealer in both of them. Then during the game I a decomposrer it was fun. I had about two main costermer (you know who you are).

I LOVED THE CHICKEN SKIN WITH THE GRAVY. It was DELISHOUS! I scraped my knee in the forest during PREDEDER SURVIVAL! :( But I got 3 free life cards!:) I had found lots of life cards at the time. DON'T FORGET COOKIES ARE ALWAYS GOOD! YUM YUM YUM!

The Bennett Centre was awsome. The first day I went to a sleepover sleeping with my friends. The first thing we did as sone as we entered into the building was we had to write some information and then...... WE HAD OUR LUNCH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteit is the best food ever had. We had spageitti with meat sauce. Then we had our own rooms and then back to the INFORMATION ROOM and then went to have some fun activities. Later we were back and had our dinner chicken and mashed potato with vegetables and some saw a movie and some had a shower and we [our room mates] played truth or dare. I am sorry for not telling that before dinner we found a spider and a mushroom. OK back to the room. Nobody SNORED I swear. the next day we we had ceareal for breakfast and back to the information room and later we had our lunch and it was PIZZA. Then we played survival game and I was a herbevore and later we walked to forest heights

The Bennett Center was a really great experience.
ReplyDeleteEspecially for the grade 6's, because they got to sleep over. The only thing I didn't like, is that the beds are very uncomfortable. I probably didn't end up going to bed until 11:00pm.
The work was interesting, but also a little bit boring until we went outside for our walk. It was a very loooooong walk through the bike trails in the River Valley beside the river.
The other really fun thing that we did outside is the game we played, Survivor! It is a really fun game.
I for one have to say that the Bennett Centre was the most wonderful time extra special experience of my life. Everyone must have had a good time like me as well, I know that some of my friends sure did. We got to act like a like a waiter and that was fun. Got to learn about trees that I didn't even know about learn about Leaves, Trees, Fur Trade, explorers.
ReplyDeletePlus other good and fun activities at the Benett Centre, the most fun activity was to chat with your roomates or friends in other rooms. I'm pretty sure that was the most fun activity for most of us to I think.

~ hi I am from room 15. I enjoyed going to the Bennett Center to. I agree the food was why better than my mom's cooking it was healther to! THe activities were awesome!! I really loved playing Survivor! My job was easy because I was Disease so no body could tag me!I can not what till next year when we get a sleepover there.
ReplyDeleteHi I am from room 15. The bennet center was pretty fun especially the second day because we played that predator and prey game and we spent most of the day outside. But my friend got dehydrated when it was time to leave. The first day was pretty fun too but not as fun, but we learned more and spent the most of the day inside. But to make it more interesting they should have made more of it outside on the first day.

last year to go there. The Bennet Centre always
makes me wonde where on earth someone would
find such heavenly recipies and how they keep those dorms spotless with all those kids in there all the time. The game at the end is really fun too but I get really sweaty and tired because I'm always a herbivore, and Ithink it's not fair that they (I'm not naming names here) always pick the fastest runners to be the carnivores, elements and disease.
But other than that, I'd say that the Bennet Centre is pretty awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
