Div 2 Locker Deal

They really should get lockers in the Div 2 hall at “the school”.

Imagine how someone’s pen is left in “other room” to get it back you would normally have to interrupt the teacher in the other classroom.  Lockers would eliminate the stress because all your stuff would be in the right place if you forgot it.  Even if it’s okay if you forget, you really shouldn’t.  But if it was in a locker, you wouldn’t interrupt any other classrooms.

There would be space in the normally used bins for the teachers to use, if our stuff was in a locker.  They would be able to keep more educational stuff in the classroom.

In a locker, no one would be able to steal your stuff.  A locker could have more space for shelves and backpacks.  Kids could be more organized on shelves, instead of stuffing their backpacks or digging through bins.  Our stuff wouldn’t get mixed up from falling on the floor out of the backpacks.

What do YOU think?

  2. It would be really cool if we had lockers then we could get all those locker accessories. And lockers look nicer as well because you can't see if there's a mess. In kinder garden I had lockers because the school was from k-gr.9. Lockers would have a better impression on people that would want to go to the school. I think there should be lockers in the hole school.

  4. I think that is an awesome idea, I would love a locker. I agree with every thing you said nuclear waffle, but why would some one steal your stuff in a elementary school. But still I would love a locker!!!!!

  6. I completely agree nuclear waffle, except for the fact that it would take up a lot of space, its a good idea, my older brother had a locker in grade 3 4 in our old school. There's not a lot to say that you didn't already said.

  7. This is almost like we need them for our backpack and other items. at my other school, they had lockers. but I was in grade 3 and all I did was stuck my leftover lunch-ables in there. I still think that we need lockers. But the grade 6's will have them next year.

  8. I do think we should have lockers so we don't have to cram everything into are back pack.
But we'd have to walk in a line because there wont be a lot of space with the lockers in the way.
    i still want lockers though.

  9. I think it would be AWESOME to have lockers in the Div.2 hallway! It would keep everything off the floor and out of the way. It would also save the teachers a job because they won't have to remind the kids or doing it for them.

At my old school, KINDERGARTENERS had lockers. They had to sweep them out once a month to keep them clean. That is not to hard. But who knows, people may make it hard...

But 1 good thing, then people will HAVE to walk in a line because of the minimum room... :)-

My point has been proved! :) :) :)

  11. I totally agree with you there. But what if people were hiding things or leaving smelly lunches in their locker. And before you know it your calling it the locker of doom.

    Diddly squat

  12. Yes I agree grade 4,5,6 should defiantly have lockers. Even though we want lockers I think that since there is not enough room in the hallway that there would be even less room. Yes all kids want lockers but what if someone figured out your combination then all your stuff would be stolen and you would have a hard time figuring out who did it and what about the cost the school would not even think of buying lockers for division two. Just think about it we do not really need lockers if you think about it. Well that is it for now.

  13. Hey, if we had lockers, we would have less space to walk. But we would also stuff our backpacks with our supplies. So I would suggest to wait till grades 7,8,9,10,11,12,College or University.

  14. I agree with nuclear waffles, it would be easier and better. Like in grade 1, this guy in my class was sick and he grabbed a bag in my backpack that had my mittens and a scarf and, well, you can think of what happened next. 

  15. well first of all I think that we SHOULD NOT get any lockers because

number 1. when the bell rings you know when we all rush out and its all crowded, well imagine with lockers in the way.

#2.it would take you longer just to open your
    locker to get to class.

#3.The school will have to spend more money just to put the lockers in.

That is why we DONT NEED LOCKERS.:)

  16. Yes you are! you are AWSOME. When i came to canada i thought that every school has lockers. But when i came to this school i saw that this school had no lockers. But i was happy that we din't have any lockers because if you have a locker and you have kept something very secret and somebody sees it after school what would you do? so having lockers is fun but also dangerous!!!

  17. I think that would great to have lockers in the division two hallway. But I think it's not necessary for the school to install lockers. It will cost a lot since we're doing renovations in the division one hall. Since we are in grade four, five and six we should be just fine.

  18. Lockers are awesome!! You could have all the accessories, more space… The list goes on and on and on. Plus, it would be easier to clean than a desk. I WANT A LOCKER!!!!!

  19. Hooks are real boring. Lookers are way better because you don't have to throw stuff out. You can store your stuff in a pile on the shelf instide of your papers geting mesed up in the back pack when you tear them out. We can also hang posteres and magnets in them!

  20. I think some of you had some very convincing ideas about having lockers in this hallway.

It's a great way to show off your decorating skills. It seems like both Falcon and Purple Cow want to share their design ideas. I also agree with Nuclear Waffles and Kpuey that it would provide more space for all your materials.

Both Small Iahk and Nummy(x2)Yum(x2) also make very good points for not having lockers. Think of how much money we just spent on our beautiful classroom and hallway. Imagine ripping out the walls AGAIN just to put in lockers. Also, I agree that it would be even MORE crowded in the hallways.

If this topic is something you're really passionate about, perhaps a formal request to the Queen of the Forest might help your cause.

  21. Wow! What a response! Some good debates on both sides. I wonder how much extra space it would really take. If you consider how far the backpacks are out from the wall, and the times when things are dropped on the floor below the hooks, it might not be that much different.

I can only imagine the amount of stinky garbage that would hide in the darkness of a locker though, a teacher may have more space in their classroom, but they would have to give up some of their time for clean-outs!

  22. OK, I know it would be awesome if we had lockers but I have some complaints for you nuclear waffle. First it would take A LOT OF MONEY.Plusit would take up so much room in our school. Also I leave my lunches in my desk (sometimes BIG HAM) and it stinks but if we had lockers it would stink even more if we had any and it would spread across the school. Trust me you do not want it to smell like rotten pizza pops all over the school. Also I wouldn’t remember my combination for my locker. (Sorry nuclear waffle but I really hate lockers that much).

  28. I personnaly think the idea is great. but there's one problem space. there is already little room in the hallway because of parents waiting ot pick there kids up. and with three feet less, it will be unamaginably tight. Though the ideas great there is just some small problems

  29. I think that lockers should only be in junior high and up. I think then you have a bit more responsibility and in elementary there is barely anything you will put in it. My sister is in junior high and she needs a locker. I would imagine if I had a locker; EMPTY! Anyway our school is small and we don't swich classes that often so there is no point. I also think that the div.1 hallway is bigger than the div.2 hallway, and if there are lockers in the div.2 hallway there will no space left and CHAOS!
    What do you think?

  30. I personally think that we (div 2's) should get lockers.

Here are a few reasons why:

-we wouldn't have to wait till Junior High(which i can't wait to go to. Only 8 more months!)
-we could practice using them so in Junior High, we would not have to run around to people we don`t know to ask them how to work them(I know that the teachers help you and all that but still)
    -we would be more organized

Lots of people in my class that I talk to about that at recess disagree with me just because the hallway will get smaller. But why not ONLY build them on one side?

But I do 20% agree with them, because whenever I try to get through the Hall, everybody is blocking the way. It would get to crowded.

I really want to here what you think!
