Why can’t we have a class pet at school? I think that every class should have a class pet because a lot of people like pets and animals. Also, I think that it would be nice to have a pet at school. You would be able to learn some responsibility just at school! People would be able to play whether you have a pet at home or not, you would still be able to play with them if you want to.
Last year at school we had two gerbils named Thunder and Lightning. Our teacher’s aide said that she could get a class pet so than that way we would be able to think better at school.
I also love animals because I have been growing up with animals all my life. I had a dog named Shadow, a dwarf rabbit named Bunny. Also, I have a bird named Maguwa but we sometimes call her Chicken, Gretchen and Miss. Grouch. I am also very good with animals.
I would love it if every class could have a class pet so than that way every one would be happy.

I think that we should be able to have a pet like last year. I had a dog named shevvie and a cat named chubbs they were the best animals I have had. I would love it if every class could have a class pet so than that way every one would be happy.

ReplyDeleteTruthfully, I don't think it will have a major effect on how we act. If we get a class pet, I think it would make us lose interest in what we are doing (school work...) and focusing on the pet instead.
But on the bright side, it would give SOME kids(not all...) a sense of responsibility. Which would be good, so more school work could be done.
My point has been proven! :)

Last years gerbil probably only lasted because the teachers aide reminded us.

I think this is a great idea because, growing up the only pet we had fish. And they are really boring. Also I think it would show great responsibility from all of us too. Maybe it would even clam us down a little. And I really think THE BIG HAM would like that.

I think that it would be fun to have a class pet! The only thing that wouldn't be nice is the smell. I could NOT stand having a bad smell in the class.

I don't think this is a good idea,because if have a pet, its gonna distract us and some people just gonna stare at it all the time and then, they're not gonna work.

You would not believe if I said that I had never had a pet before and that was because I lived in an apartment. I would love to have a pet at school but what if the pet is noisy?what if some kids treat it badly(that would be rude)so I would rather have a SCHOOL PET than to have a CLASS PET which is for each class and the pet can stay with Mrs.Carl and you can play with it during free time and I would love to have a a rabbit or a cat named Crystal(cool name).

Sweetpea, I like the idea but some kids are allergic to fur or certain types of fur. But also a lot of kids are not allergic to fur. I agree with the class pet idea but responsibility is another subject at school. One thing that you should think about though is that I would not trust a grade one student with a pet. Maybe a fish tank but not a furry animal living in a cage. Just saying.

I think that a class pet would be good. The reason that we had a class pet last year is because we thought it would help people consontrate.

ReplyDeleteMice is the way to go. They are awesome. Mice are nocturnal but are very cute and nice. The only thing bad about mice is that they turd every where Definition: Turd = a small poo.
I don't think having mice around would help our behavior. (but they're so cute) Overall I would like a pet.

My opinion about the topic is that I think every class under grade four and it should be simple like a fish or a few caterpillar something like that. Plus I think it's enough having every class under grade four but if every grade had a class pet then I say it might be to much. I mean what happens if a pet gets lost or something else like that.
ReplyDeleteBut if the school were to aford having a class pet for every grade and class and we could choose. I would maybe pick a fish becuase fish are quiet, they can't do anything to hurt you or anybody and some fish can be very very beautiful. Plus I use to have two Japanese fish
and it is easy to take care of them but still is a lot of responsibility to take care of a fish.

They can be played with(but with care & gentile). One tip: GERBILS ARE NOT TOYS!

ReplyDeleteBut in some cases, the pet could also get lost somewhere in the school. And at some point, the principal could find a rabbit in her office. The kids could also fight over who gets to feed the pet.
But personally, I think it is a good idea.

For one thing I don't think that what diddley squat said is appropriate. I personally loved it when we had gerbils! For the grade sixes, their names were Lightning and Thunder. We should totally get class pets again!!

I don't think there should be class pets because some people could have allergies and we would run into a lot of trouble picking the animal. I had 4 fish and sadly they died. I remember in grade 1 when we had a pet hamster named Fluffy and we had 12 chicks. They were so adorable although we never knew which chick was which because they looked alike.

I love pets. I have 6 pets that I love and have fun with. I have two kittens, two birds, one fish and one snail. They are cool to look at and play with and I agree we should have class pets. The only problem is if kids got allergies, which would be dangerous. But I have no allergies so I have no problems. Which I am lucky. But other people won’t be so lucky :(

I don’t get my presents under the tree until Christmas Eve so it doesn’t bother me. I want to know what my presents are but my mom and dad just like yours won't budge :( so I don’t really even try any more. But it is really exiting to figure out what you get. I really think that pets are horribles. In classrooms. It distracts you a lot and it makes noises in a test and stuff. I am not touching poo and pee. For proper terms that I prefer: urine and fecwal matter. Any of them. YuCK! I had experiences last year. I really hate pets.
