Here, fellow friends I am going to talk to you about the Kony 2012 project. The Kony 2012 project is about a person named Joseph Kony. And we want to make him famous, not to celebrate him, but to arrest him.
Mr. Kony is a criminal, he is a criminal because he is wanted for many accounts (some of which I could not find). Why we want him arrested is because he kidnaps children from Gulu , Uganda
If you look up ''the kony project'' on YouTube (there is also many other websites like www.kony2012.com or www.invisblechildren.com) a video will pop up that is half an hour long. And each of the views brings more and more awareness to the Kony 2012 project. Also, as of March, 12 2012 the YouTube video currently has 74 million views.
Many people are hitting the streets also by putting up posters, stickers on bikes or phones or even making clubs to donate money to the cause.
You can help by sending donations via email TRI@INVISIBLECHILDREN.com or just making posters for awareness.
The man who started the video of Joseph Kony is named Jason Russell, and he making a huge difference to the world we live in today.

Joseph Kony is a bad person. I really hate him for taking those inocent children just for making them kid soldiers and to make him self feel more powerful. Lots of kids are with him right now because he abducts them when they are sleeping. :( Don't you think that's really sad like really we need to stop him. I may not know how but we could do that thing like posting pictures and all that like that one guy is doing with a bunch of other people so when the world wakes up they will know about him seeing the pictures and watching the videos about what he does. It's really sad so I hope you guys try doing what they are doing posting pictures and showing people videos so they can tell other people about it.

I think he is a very mean man. He has to be arrested for his crimes. Also he makes the little girls be "sex slaves" now that is just wrong, because they are sometimes having kids from 6 to 20. If one of the kids disobeys Kony, Kony will make his other slaves slaughter the poor children. How mean! Also did you know that only 30% will go to helping the kids, and the other 70% goes to the organization.But, once again Kony has to be stopped!

Well in the first place the story of Kony is just Sad :( I don't like to talk about this stuff but it is hard not to. People who are my age are being kidnapped and given drugs to do stuff they do not want to do. Plus the WORST part about it is that people didn't even know about it till now and that is sad. I am excited to read what other kids think about this post

I dislike Kony because he does stupid things and he has been doing it for a long time. But I think they would have exaggerated how many kids he has taken.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a bit too grown up for elementary school but I think it is important to know about current events. Another thing is that they did another fundraiser back a few years ago but only 30 percent of the money went to actually stopping Kony.
We had a sub that was a peace keeper and had been to the places that Kony's gangs were. He saw people with severed limbs and kidnapped children.

ReplyDeleteI watched the "Kony 2012" video. It was a truly amazing video. Before that, I had heard about Joseph Kony but never actually knew what he did. Now that I know, I REALLY want him arrested.
It is also a really good idea that schools all over are talking about him. I don't think kids in grades 1,2,3 should hear about it, but grades 4,5,6 are (usually) mature enough to handle it. So really, it is okay to talk about him in schools.
The earlier he gets arrested the better the future will be for everyone, especially kids.

ReplyDeleteOne hundred four thousand children? Really? That is really sad. Kony is a horrible man. Could you imagine one night you are just in your bed then you hear a noise and then, BAM!!!!! You are now kidnapped and have to do everything that Kony says. The worst ( well one of the worst things) is that you don't even get to say goodbye.
I think it is amazing what Jason Russell is doing. A lot of people probably knew about it and said I want to help but actually did nothing. The trick that most people don't know is that if someone helps, somebody else will help.
I think the school should have a fundraiser and raise money for the Kony project.

I watched this video at school with every one else in my class. Then when I got home I watched it with my parents. It had a huge effect on me. After we watched it at school, when my dad picked me up, I trudged along following him to our vehicle. It makes me really irritated to see someone do some thing like that. Whats the point? ReplyDeleteIn my eyes Kony is maybe the worst person I would ever meet. But I don't want to even meet him. But in other people's eyes, he is someone they would follow in his footsteps. Just like the people that work for him, they probably think that Kony is their hero. Even if someone did kill Kony it doesn't mean that all of the violence in the world will stop. Lots of thing are happening right now that people would get arrested for and nobody will even try to even hurt them because they know that people from their army will kill them.
I couldn't even imagine being kidnapped by him and being hurt by him. The sad part of the whole thing is that the kids don't even know any better and just try and get away. That was why he probably chose kids to be a part of his army because they won't try kill him with the gun.
I feel really lucky to live in a free country where no one is held hostage and forced to kill other people.

I hate Joseph Kony..... it's just really sad to hear what happen to the kids in Uganda. They can't sleep with out thinking of getting abducted!! They can't be calm when they sleep.. they can't be happy to go to sleep because they can rest!!! And really ...he's just doing it to keep his power!! Can't he just be a good solder or a awesome cop?? Well...at least he's on the run now, and that's good because he can't get as much kids than he can when he's not on the run!!! Some people says that it's not good to tell little kids about it because they might get night mares when they go to sleep!!! But they need to know it because they might see him and than they don't run and they would walk up to him and say like hi or something!! And they need to know what is going on in the world that they live in !! I'm going to put some posters up every where!!! That's what I have to say!!

Why would a person do that, abducting kids and making them child soldiers, why wouldn't he just get adults to make soldiers? and why would he waste his life doing this.

I am very proud of Jason but I am also sad of what a stupid he did few days ago. Its okay because the mission is still going on. The first question that pops into my mind is that "what would Joseph Kony gain from killing people and kidnapping children and giving them drugs?" that is just stupid.

My opinion about Joseph Kony is that I can not believe that he is a horrible person no doubt about it. I know that people can do bad things and be on the run for a few years but Joseph Kony has been doing this for twenty-six years. I have never heard nothing that has to do with but after I saw that video about him and the invisble children, that was really sad, so sad that it just made my heart burst in to tears, and to think that Kony 2012 project was absolutly and extraodinary a great idea. But I wonder how can they have a picture of Joseph Kony. Well If you're wondering probably the invisible children escaped and gave people his description.

I don't really have anything to say to this. I just heard about this last week. We have seen that video and I think that if he had kidnapped all those kids then yes it is definitely something to worry about. For those people who don't really care you should. I think that more people should care about this and then maybe someone who is more powerful then Joseph Kony someone will try to put a stop to Joseph Kony and finally arrest and put him away for good.
