I hate social.
Social is my worst subject.
ANYTHING else Math, Science, Music, ANYTHING but social.
I dont even under stand why we have to learn social in the first place. I dont like social because I dont like fill-in the blank sheets and its SOOOOO BORING.
What really bites about social is after the test everything I learn sticks in my head.
AFTER THE TEST.
The only thing that's good about social is I play a game called Civilization III that teaches you a bunch about social. In fact THE BIG HAM asked me a question (I dont remember the question) and I got it and THE BIG HAM said how did you know that? I said video game.

When I was younger, I also did not like Social. However, as I grew older and discovered the reason for learning it, it started to make more sense.
ReplyDeleteAs a Canadian, it's important to know about the country in which you live. You may not enjoy it and instead of constantly hating it, try looking at it from a different perspective.
Did you enjoy learning about Alberta last year? Next year, you will be learning about the levels of government which is essential to know if you are going to become a responsible citizen and vote as an adult.
If you have other suggestions as to what kinds of alternative activities you would like to do in class, I am open to listening to them.
Keep in mind that we have accomplished a number of different activities this year, including notes on the textbook. Do you remember our brochure? Also, we went to the Bennett Centre for two days in September.

I agree with you kpuey...i hate social too. It's also my worst subject. But some times social isn't that bad..... like when we do the projects, that's fun...well at lease to me. And I know what social is for...it's so that you can learn the history of the world we live in!!!

There's nothing really to comment on, but I'll do my best. Any who, I sort of agree with you, but not to much, in my social class, we do all this semi-fun stuff, like power points, and posters, that sort of stuff, it's usually science that has all of the boring stuff like paper work, and pointless experiments.
ReplyDeleteIf there's any paper work (which is never), it's usually stuff like multiple choice, and short answer, but just remember, at least it's not science.

DeletePurple Unicorn, I get that you hate math but it is a core subject and a very important one at that. Don't mean to burst you purple bubble but you should probably get used to the fact that math is going to be in your life pretty much forever. But I agree with you that Canada's history is cool and the Ancient Greek unit was pretty awesome!!!

I agree, I don't like social at all! I'm OK at it but on tests sometimes its really hard!
ReplyDeleteBut, the field trips are really fun! Like once we went to the Bennett center and we got to go on a hike pretending we were voyeurs! And I also think that field trips are one of the best ways on getting children to learn! Because they get kids attention on fun ways to learn too!
So my final conclusion is that social is an OK subject!

When I was in grade three I didn't like as well it wasn't becuase I was bad at it or boring I just didn't like subject. But as I got older I sarted to like this subject more and more. I like fill in the blanks and knowing what happen in the past and what happen before Canada became a country in 1867.

In math like all the new units especially operations even though it is not a new unit. I like science becuase of all the experience and knowledge, I like social becuase of the history of our country and I like Language Arts because of all the writing assignments.

I admit, social is not my FAVOURITE subject and also that I wish that the work sheets were not the ONLY thing we do but still, it is not that bad. Most of the time......

I hate social. Social is my worst subject. The only subject I am good at is French. It is the only subject that I get almost a 100%. In every other subject I usually get a 51-73%.
ReplyDeleteI can get better on tests I just don't like what we learn about. I think we should learn about how back in the 1800's when world war 1 happened how they showed respect for us and wen't and risked there lives.

I can agree with you that sometimes social is hard.
ReplyDeleteSocial is my worst subject in school but it really isn't that hard. It could be hard if you're one of those people that don't really try in school, but if you are, than it may become a little more clear. Social may be hard, but the social curriculum has the most field trips and with field trips. things start to make more sense.
Social is hard but it depends on the situation.

I totally agree social is boring. Gym is great.Science is o.k. Music is o.k. too. But then there is social witch is bad. The worst is math. All you do is sitting their fliping trough a text book trying to find a answer to a completly useless question like: what is a Canadian. See what I mean? And most of the time all you do is filling in fill in the blank trash.

When you get to grade six you might social gets more boring but it doesn't. It actually gets more exiting and interesting. Just the other day we went into a VERY describtive conversation about WW2. I love social in grade six and I'm sure it will get even more interesting in grade seven.
