Losing a Family Member

Have you ever lost a family member?  I know it’s tough.

My grampa suffered from breathing in second-hand smoke because at his work place everyone smoked.   He suffered for a long time and at one point he couldn’t drink or he would choke and the same thing with food he couldn’t walk and talk and it was sad.  He eventually passed away and I attended his funeral.

It is sad that he is gone but I’m glad that he is no longer suffering.  Every kid there was crying at the funeral, including me.

One of my mom’s friend has a dog named Kiki and he’s suffering from this disease he was born with.  It eats away his bones and my dog Piper is going to miss his friend.   I feel sad for both my mom’s friend and her dog.

I ask you again how did you feel when someone close to you dies?   What was his or her name?

If you’ve never had somebody pass away, think about friends that have had their close relatives or even pass away.  Describe how you felt or may feel.

  3. I have lost my Uncle Rick. When I heard it, I was crying for probably about 30 minutes straight. And one of the bad parts about it was, we were going to go to Disneyland the next day. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our flight to Disneyland. But, my family went to Disneyland in February. At the funeral, I was really sad. I was probably crying the whole time. I saw lots of people that I don't usually see lots.

I have been at a funeral, like I said in my first paragraph. Funerals are not fun, and I think I was saying weird because that was the first time I was at a funeral. When you are at a funeral, you usually cry a lot and when you leave you may get a bit better, for me anyway.

  5. Yes I have lost someone in my family. It was my pet cat Sinder. Even though she is blind she can get through the house with hitting two or three walls. She died because of suffocation when in a box. It was really sad because Sinder was older than 19 years old.

No I have not attended a funeral. I have not seen anyone having a funeral. I do not know what happens at a funeral. I have not heard anyone say what happens at a funeral.

I have attended a funeral for my gramma. At a funeral people sit and listen to a speech.

  13. I have lost four things in my family. I have lost grandpa and I never got to see, meet him. That made me sad and I cried a little bit. I lost my pet fishes. They died from how dirty it got in the tank and my dad threw them in the garbage when he did I had tears in my eyes. I was sad at that time when they died. My uncle weenier dog died. I always got to play with him and he gave me high fives. I was really sad because I just wish I had more time with him, I was had barely any tears because I thought I played with him enough. My grandma lost her dog when it ran away. I didn't meet her dog I don't know if the dog is dead or not.

I have never been at a funeral. I really don't know what they do at a funeral.

  14. I have lost a family member. It was my great grandma. She passed away from a heart attack. It made me feel sad and my sister cried a lot. She died a long time ago.

We found her grave by an ocean when we went to a family reunion.

I have never been to a funeral ever. At funerals I think the people pray, they say good things about the person, they maybe give the deceased person roses and flowers. I think that's all they give. I don't know what they do after the funeral's over. I think they sing O Canada.

  16. Thank you for your post, Cheesehead. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your grandpa. I lost my grandpa a few years ago, and I felt very sad about it for a while.

I haven't been to many funerals, but all of them were for either my grandparents or my husband's grandparents.

We've also done small funerals for the pets we've lost (two bunnies and a few gerbils).

I feel sad when I lose a pet or a family member, but the sadness goes away after a while. I remember all of the good things we shared while they were with me. Then I am not so sad any more.

I hope your heart heals soon, Cheesehead.
