Fruit

Do you eat fruit?   I eat fruit at home a lot. I eat oranges, apples, and honeydew melons.  Thats what I eat the most.  My favourite fruit is oranges because they taste really good.  I peel them myself with my fingers.  I haven't eaten oranges for a long time and I'm not sure why.  I haven't had oranges since February and apparently my mom wont buy any till Christmas.  I dont know why.  I would really want to have oranges right now.  I think my mom is going to use them for Christmas for decoration because last Christmas I think she put them in a drawer and left them there and they were hard.

What I really eat almost every day is apples.  They taste really good.  I eat the apples with the red skin.  I've also tried green apples but they are too sour.

Do you like fruit?  What is your favourite fruit?  How do you eat it?

The Internet

The internet can be dangerous. But it's basically going to be our lives starting in junior high because you need to get a computer that's good. Instead of doing your work on paper you can do it all on your device. And if you don't have one well you will have to do everything the old fashion way with paper and pens. I'm going to get a computer though because I'm smart that way.

Back to the internet is dangerous It can be dangerous because of spam and there is dangerous people on the internet that can hack you and steal your information if you fall for the spam. Or if there is a hacker they will steal your account on something. Or just break your computer on the inside and give you virus. There is also online bullying and predators who seek out people to hurt.

But it can be a good thing. You can do research on the computer. You can do work faster and you can play games on it.

So do you think the internet is bad that's it's going to be in our lives or do you think it's good? Do you like using a computer or do you like paper? And do you play games on your computer?

Swimming

Last week the Grade 4’s went to swimming lessons.  There were four lessons and they lasted one hour each.  There were three groups: beginners, middle group and experienced swimmers.

I was in the highest level there.  We had to practice front crawl, diving into the pool and we swam A LOT of laps.

For our test on the last day, we had to dive in and tread water.  My group were not allowed to wear a life jacket for this activity.  Then we had to swim to the end AND back.  It wasn’t that tiring for me.

My favourite part of the swimming was diving but it was also my least favourite because I got water up my nose.

In swimming lessons we played a game called Safe Or Sorry and you can play it in the deep end or the shallow end but you have to be careful in the shallow end.  There was the chance that you could bump your head on the ground.  At the end the day we would play freeze tag.

The Big HAM did not go into the pool she just watched us swim.

What level did you get put in?  Do you like swimming and why?  What was your favourite part of the swimming?

Friendly Letter

Last week we were working on a friendly letter.  A friendly letter is one where we write to someone who is popular or who we admire.  We tell that person a little bit about ourselves and we ask questions that make us curious.

I wrote to Roger Hargreaves because the Big Ham said if we didn't have anyone to write to.  I write to him about my story Little Miss Upset. I think he would like it. She didn't tell us that he was dead.  Some people wrote to other popular people such as Katy Perry or Adam Levine.

When we’re done writing, we put many stamps on the envelope.  We had to use a lot of stamps because we did not have the right postage.  One kid had about 20 stamps!  They looked like sticker books.

One part I’m interested is that if they write back a friendly letter. I think that it would be so cool.
We took two or three days to get it finished. I think it was easy for me.

Who did you write to? What did you write about?  Was it easy for you?
