This year will be the last year that the Queen of the Forest will be the principal of our school. She has decided to go back to teach students at another school. The Queen of the Forest has been the principal at our school for the last seven years. That has been enough time to oversee one class starting from Kindergarten all the way through to Grade 6. We wish her the best of luck in the next stage of her career.
Now that our Queen is leaving, this means that there is space for a new principal. We learned a couple of weeks ago that we will be getting a new King of the Forest. It's always exciting and a little scary to get a new leader in our building.
I wonder if the students are excited to be getting a new principal. Maybe they're scared. We are all used to how the Queen of the Forest dealt with incidents and could act accordingly. But how will the students react to a new person, especially a man? Will that change their behaviour?
What advice could you give to the new principal to help him make our school run smoothly?

I wish you the best of luck in your new school QOF and have a very good time teaching . Here is my advice to you for your new school...
ReplyDelete1 Don't yell
2 Be nice
3 Give free candy
4 Greet kids at slow pace
5 Have fun
I do not care that we're getting a new principal. Its not really going to change me at all. I try not to get into much trouble at all. But I cant wait to see him and I hope he is not mean. And here is my advice to you KOF...
1 Go at very slow pace for me because I hate people
2 Try not to get stressed out
3 Have fun
4 Get rid of S.O.C.K for Div 2 - it's for little kids.
5 Don't smoke or I will hate you
MrJamHam13
Thanks for the advice MrJamHam 13. You will need to explain what "greeting at a slow pace" means. I think the King is quite a sporty guy, so I would be surprised if he smoked. I might reconsider the way you phrased that last statement.
DeleteQof F
I well miss QoF for sure because she's been our principal for 7 years and it is a good chance for trouble makers to change their record. Getting a male principal will be scary for some people because they are different when it comes to taking care of problems. Yell at your students to teach discipline and make them blog on Forest 14.
ReplyDelete~cheesehead
P.S This is not going to affect me next year because I'm going to a dislexic school and the teachers know how to teach me better. No offence, Big Ham.
Cheesehead, one of the things I want to do is set up a blog for my class. I was going to let the Big Ham know where our site is so our classes can visit each other.
DeleteQof F
Good bye Queen Of The Forest good luck at your new job. Remember to never give homework. Be nice (not that you were not) to your students.
ReplyDeleteI hope "King" will be nice and not mean, bad, always angry. I hope he cancels RAC and no more track and field. I used to have a male principal and he was mean so he quit because a guy said no. The kid got suspended for 1 month.
Do not kill people and you are set.
-BRONO
BRONO, Okay no killing, I think I can remember that. You will have to see how the king feels about RAC. I think it is a good thing. It improves your fitness and gives you a goal to improve.
DeleteI wish the Queen Of The Forest good luck and make sure to yell at your students! You were a good principal and you deal with kids pretty well. I have never got a detention, but it might still be pretty scary.
ReplyDeleteHere are some tips for being a teacher next year:
1. Make sure you yell at your students!
2. Make sure to give your students extra computer time and to give them at least an hour of free time every Friday.
3. Go buy a pack of donuts from Tim Hortons to give to your class on Monday to make Monday's better for everyone.
4. NEVER send your students to the principal's office so your class gets a lot of prizes because the principal will think your class is VERY well behaved.
5. Give your students at least one hour of gym time.
I hope those tips help you which they probably won't! :P
I think that getting a new principal will be cool because if he is really strong and likes sports, that's good because he can play a sport with us at recess. If he's really mean and quite large, sucks to be you. I think having a male principal instead of a female principal will be funner because whenever your dad takes you out to some place he will probably bring you to a fast food restaurant or something awesome like that.
Good advice to our new principal: :P
1. Give us candy every hour.
2. Have a lot of assemblies and stuff like that to delay learning.
3. Who needs to work all day-HAVE FUN!
~waspy :)
waspy, waspy, waspy, oh my.
DeleteI am not going to give my students a free hour on Fridays, but I am going to do something called Genius Hour on Fridays. The students will get to pick something they are really interested in and then they get to spend the hour learning or practicing. then when they feel ready they have to share what they have learned in some way.
That' a pretty good idea, Q of A.

Good luck at your new school Queen of the forest. I'm sad that you're leaving. I wish you could stay longer.
ReplyDeleteI don't want a men principal I just want a women principal because the women are nice. I'm scared because he might be so angry and get really really mad.
If I was you King of the forest I would gave 1 hour gym time every day,not have R.A.C on Tuesday and Thursday and get to play laptop 1 hour every day.
~barbie
barbie, I will be sad to go as well, but change is good, keeps you on your toes. Give the new principal a chance, you might think he is the best ever.
DeleteQof F
I hope the Queen of the Forest had a good seven year at our school. I will miss the Queen a lot. I am not happy that she is leaving. The Queen can not leave me here all by myself. I hope your students will be happy with you. You have to let your students have a lot of free time.
ReplyDeleteI really do not want the Queen of the Forest to leave but if she wants to be a teacher then she can. I really do not want a male teacher because it will not be the same without her. But I think I will be fine.
The advice that I want to give the new King of the forest is you can not let the teacher give all of the students tests and let all of our recess be at least two hours.
I WILL MISS THE QUEEN OF THE FOREST A LOT.
~bubbles
bubbles, thanks for your kind words. I will miss the Forest. I am not sure the King will go for your suggestions. You will have to see.
DeleteQ of F
Q o F it sucks that you're leaving us. What I think of getting a new principal is that it sucks because you were really nice. I think I have never got in trouble from Q o F.
ReplyDeleteWhat advice I would give to the Q o F is not to give the kids that she is going to teach is not to give them math .
-cat
cat, I sure if you have never had a problem with me you won't have one with the new principal. There is an expression that goes, "you teach people how they should treat you".
DeleteHey I like teaching math, just like the Big Ham.
Q of F
Queen of Forest good bye. Hope you come visit us once in a while and I am really sad that you are leaving. Good luck at your new school.
ReplyDeleteI hope the new principal will be nice to us. It does not matter that it is a male principal my behaviour will stay the same.
My advice to the principal is no more R.A.C.The school should give us more field trips.
-candyapple
Thanks for your good wishes candyapple. I think the kids in the Forest get to go on a lot of trips, but I do agree that a field trip is always fun.
DeleteQ of F
Well wishes QotF to teaching students of a different school! I hope you will teach students that like you. You may teach the students how to listen if they do not listen to anything. You could teach them diceplen. If you do good luck!
ReplyDeleteI will not really change much of having a man for a principal. It would be a good experience on having a male instead of a female. I would like a male because they would make other people not bully others. I hope the new principal has a good act and stops bullying. I would not be bullied anymore because every bad person bullies me.
My advice would be teach diceplen because bullies would just stop bulleing.
¬Cookieman!!
Cookieman, How could my students not like me? I would like to talk to you about your bullying situations. I think people use the words bullying when they mean having conflict. Conflict is part of being human and we have strategies to deal with that. Bullying is something that has to be dealt with quickly and seriously.

I wish you *luck* and I'm sad you're leaving to be a teacher at another school Queen of the Forest. I wish you do great at your school. :(
ReplyDeleteI have four pieces of advice for you:
1. Don't yell at your students :-()
2. Make sure get the best smart board out right now
3. Give them candy every Friday and let them pick what they want :) :)
4. Give them $$money!$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a little a bit scared getting a male principal because I don't know how he reacts. I don't really want a male principal. I hope he only put rac on Fridays.
Here is some advice for(KOF)
1. Give them extra free time
2. Make them do no homework
3. Cut a few minutes off school
-Candyman
Candyman thanks for the luck and I am hoping everything at my new school will be great. Give the new principal a chance. I hear he is a great guy.
DeleteQ of F
I feel sad for you when you leave. I wish you have good luck at your new school. Here one advice for you from me to you. Give them 45 minutes to read.
ReplyDeleteI feel scared about a new principal if I think of it because I never had a male principal.
Here one advice for the [Kotf]. Give us treats and be funny.
pretty girl
Hey pretty girl, I like the idea of having lots of reading time. I love to read out loud as well. When I was in grade 6 I had a morning and an afternoon teacher, they both read out loud. I loved it.
DeleteI am so sad that QOTF is leaving the school. She was an awesome principal she was sooo funny. Well wishes to you and your career. And just some tips for you when are teaching, just be a hybrid of the Big Ham and our resident Don Cherry and that is funny and strict.
ReplyDeleteTo me it does not matter at all if we have a male as a principal because I have had a man before and he was 7 feet tall.
And some advice to KoF: No R.A.C at any extent and that's all I need to say except give the Big Ham more money.
~monkeyman
Monkeyman, Thanks for your kind words. Funny and strict, I think I can do that. I agree the Big Ham does need a raise. She is fabulous.
DeleteQ of F
I hope you have a good time in your new teaching career (QoF). Don't yell at your students and act like a teacher not a principal from the past 7 years. Plus make your students kneel or stand, make them do R.A.C. and no free time.
ReplyDeleteI am greatly looking forward to a MALE principal! The bad students like thebig boyTNT will have a new start. Plus I can have a new challenge.
I have to say to the new principal keep up our existing school spirit.
~waxierwharf360~
waxierwharf360, I really like the idea of people having a new start. That is one of the great things about getting a new principal. He will not have any experiences, good or bad with people. Everyone is creating a new relationship with him.
DeleteQ of F
I will miss you Queen of the Forest. It is going to be hard for me too because I'm going to a different school too and it will be my third school to be at.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good idea for the male principal to come to our school because he will have a chance to meet new people. I think he might have fun going on our blog and meeting new people.
If you are the King of the Forest, I have advice for you. If people get into fights, the Queen of the Forest would discuss why they were fighting and if I were you I would have long recesses so we can burn off energy. Once in a while you could go on announcements and once in a while you can visit the classrooms. Good luck, King of the Forest!
~cookie pie
Cookie pie, I hope you have fun at your new school. Hey your post made me think that we should send the link to the new principal. He might like to read the advice before he comes.
DeleteQ of F
QOF, I hope you have a great time teaching at another school. Also give advice to the students like make them run around the school.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to have a male principal. I don't know what the new principal will look like.
I give advice to build a water fountain outside so we will not die of thirst. I would put the water fountain down by the hill and where the grade 1 come out to play at recess.
-xboxlivemaster
xboxlivemaster, Thanks, I am sure I will have fun teaching. Hmm outside water fountain, interesting idea.
DeleteQ of F
(Q o F) I wish you a best of luck. I am so sad because you are leaving. I wish you don't leave.
ReplyDeleteI am happy that we are getting a new principal. It doesn't matter if we get a male or female principal. My behaviour will stay the same. I don't get into any trouble.
I give some advice to our new (K o T F) I want you to be a good principal.
-Sam
Sam, stay cool
DeleteQ of F
I hope you have a nice time at your new school, QOF. I wish you could not give your kids RAC because it's very tiring and sometimes you just don't want to run. I hope your kids will be good.
ReplyDeleteI think it is very nice that kids get a fresh start with a new principal. I think a male principal will teach the boys a lesson because he's a male. I hope he's nice and not strict.
I hope the King of the Forest will let us continue SOCK and that he should let the artist in residence come back more. He could play soccer with the kids and he could let us have more field trips.
~bobby
bobby, I am not sure we will have RAC at my new school, but I do want to do fitness training. Things like seeing how long we can hold a plank, or wall sit or how many push ups or time to do a lap around the school. I think it is good to try and improve your performance. What do you think?
DeleteQ of F
I think you are right can you reply back to me
DeleteGood luck at your new school Queen.
ReplyDeleteIm excited because it will be a new start for me. I ll try not to get in trouble. It doesnt mater if our new principal is male or female.
Make kids do rack only on Mondays or Fridays. And I think you will get a laugh out of our "Mr. Don Cherry". And when kids get in trouble take away their chairs and that's some advice.
~thebigboyTNT
thebigboyTNT,
DeleteI like the idea of a new start for you. My advice to help you, is to take a moment between getting an idea and doing it. Maybe that way you can stop some of your bad choices. Good luck, I know you can do it!
Q of F
I feel sad that the Queen of the Forest is leaving the Forest. I've thoroughly enjoyed working with her - laughing at jokes together, checking with each other about students who need some extra support, getting advice when I'm stumped, and listening to her talk about her favourite sports around the lunch table. I wish you nothing but joy and fun next year in your classroom!
ReplyDeleteI'm also excited that the King of the Forest will be here next year. I think he will be a great principal, and I think the students will have lots of fun with him. No two people are alike, and the King will act a bit different than the Queen, but he is rumored to be a friendly and kindly king. To all of you who are scared that a male principal will be angry and mean, I can tell you that I saw him in a previous kingdom and he ruled fairly and justly.
What advice can I give the new King? To be fair and firm with the kids, to keep modelling SOCK behaviour like the Queen did, and to laugh lots.
And, my advice to the students - be fair to the King and each other, keep modelling SOCK behaviour, and laugh lots.
Thanks Jay Bird, I will miss working with you. You have a big heart. It is good you already know the king and let people know that he was fair and kind.
