That thought led me to thinking: Are summer holidays too long?
Don't get me wrong, I love having two months off in the summer to relax and go on vacation. I am fortunate that my career allows me to do that. I'm sure many students were counting down the days in June before school ended so that they could play all summer.
But think about the length of the summer. Two months, Eight weeks. Sixty days. That's a long time to be off from school. I can understand why kids come back admitting they've forgotten everything. I don't even remember what I did
Did you know that there are some schools that break up the holidays differently? Overall, the number of weeks of vacation are the same but they may get two weeks at a time at Spring Break and then four weeks over the summer. Essentially, they are going to school almost year-round. Perhaps this method would be better for everyone.
What do you think about the length of the summer holidays? Do you think there is a better way to break them up?

I think that summer break is too long because I love school soooooo much I could live here. And I have an idea, maybe for celebrations we could have a BBQs and such. So what do you say yes no maybe so?????????
ReplyDeleteAnd I think it would be better to break up the holidays is by by giving us 2 weeks at every holiday but no more than that but we can have spring break for 3 weeks.

Sometimes I think the summers are too long, but that's only once I get back to school and I realize I should've studied. But once I get back to summer, my brain is gone.

But I'm not too happy with how many holidays we get through the school year. I'd pop a few more holidays in in one year.

i don't think summer holidays are too long because if summer holidays were too short then I would not have been able to go to Hollywood or Disney World or go to Floridia or anywhere else like that with my family!
ReplyDeleteBut maybe we could break it up just a bit just enough for me to go for my summer vacation with my family. A better way to break it up in my opinion is: one week off in October, ,one week in the spring three weeks in August,three weeks in July and two weeks in December.

OK show i think that summer IS TO SHORT!!! Because i came back from Germany and then it was bed time and then in the morning it was school time at 8:40 am show I was tierd!

I think that the summer is wonderful as it is now. I enjoy the warm weather and blue sky. Yes, I think the summer is perfect just the way it is. I love to bounce on my trampoline and go fishing in the beautiful lakes and rivers of Alberta. The summer is just perfect to me. There is nothing I would like to change about the summer. When I go back to school every year, Im proud! And I think everyone else should be too.

I think summer holidays are ok,not to long. But for me this summer I always went to the spray park every day (so it felt short and happy). Well anyways,if I didn't have summer holidays it would be a nightmare! Such as:
ReplyDelete1.Students would not be able to study what they need to learn
2.Say you want to go somewhere you would not be able to go there on a vacation
3.No summer rest.
My opinion for the summer would be:
1.Going to the spray park
2.Going on a vecation
3.Go swimming
4.Study for school(when you got nothing to do)
5.School shopping(as soon as you can)!!!
Just enjoy it as it lasts,because before you know it,it will be over!

I think summer holidays are just right. It let's children to have time to studie ahead of time or just to have time to there self. Some children like to go on vacation or stay at home and spend time with there family. I like to go to Russia and Germany. Every two years I go to visit my Grandma this year she visited us. So I think summer holidays are just perfect because all the children can have fun and go swimming just do things outside and not inside like playing video games when the sun is shining then you should be outside. Because I think playing video games is more for when it is raining.

I think summer is to fast. It has to be longer, I want the summer to be 1 month longer so I still get to play games.

I think it was summer was not to long because I did lots of things that were awesome. But at the end of the summer I was so exited to go back to school to see my friends!

I don't think the summer holidays are too long. I just think that maybe it could be a week shorter and the time taken away could be added to the rest of the year. I guess I did not forget most things I learnt because I had tons of sheets that I got from school. Some of them were cool but most of them were boring.

I don't think summer is too long. It's a time to spend with family and friends,enjoy the outdoors and weather. But what I don't get is lately when people could be sight seeing they're playing on their devices in the method of transportion on their trip.
ReplyDeleteBut what really frustrates me is some kids are only looking forward to what they get at Christmas or Easter.
I think the break ups of the breaks in school is just fine.

Summer holidays are too long it should be at least 3 weeks and 39 days.When I get back to school I can't remember a thing I am confused and scared that I will fail the grade. It is too long I don't like it because you don't learn anything. Summer holidays are too long it has to be shorter you have to learn more so you know more. Like christmas,Easter,St patrick day they should be longer like 9 to 10 days thats what I think.

I dont think summer is to long because I wouldent be able to go see all my family or see the pretty mountains it would be horrible. I would be so bored without going to B.C. it would suck not seeing my family at home. I would just cry and run in to my room and stay in there for the whole summer vacation. and I would not be able to jump off the 30 foot bridge in B.C. its so fun and I would not be able to see my nanie and papas new house that I went to and see wild peacoks caribou and moomoo it would be horrible.

Summers are too long because we probably have 2 weeks or two months or even 10 months of summer vacations so it is too long. But we can do lots of things we can even go anywhere.We can even do minecraft all day long.

I think that summer should be one week between each month so students don't forget what they learned last year. One week between each month of summer holidays is just great for me. Summer is a time to enjoy time with your family and friends. I think summer holidays are to long.

I think summer holidays are a bit to long. Don't say I don't like summer holidays because I love them. But I actually think they are at least a week and a half to long. I love summer because you get to go on vacation and you get to see different things. But when you are at home and you have nothing to do it is boring.

I think summer break is too long. I would rather have fifty day's of summer then sixty. Why not split the weeks when you would rather be learning in school.

I don't think summer is too long because 2 months is plenty of time for kids to have lots of fun in this period of time. They can lots of fun like water (gun) fights, swimming, soccer games, races, throwing a football around, playing with your friends, playing basketball, bike riding (with your friends).
ReplyDeleteIf summer holidays was shorter then there is less time for kids to play and less time to get ready for school too. Kids need time to exercise like running, jogging, biking, walking around your block if you have one. Going for walks and for jogs is good for kids bodys.

Are you kidding its not long enph. I want it to be 4 months insed of 2. If it was 4 months I would have been able to go to the Califonia zoo last summer. I dont think there is a better way to break up the summer, I want an all year summer vacation insed of an all year school year. I think that would be super cool!

I don`t think that the holidays are long and it`s like 300 days of awesome. I just like the summer. You just need to split up other holidays and put it on Crismas and it will be a awesome Crismas.

Summer is to short make it ten weeks of summer break. Winter is to short I would like three weeks of winter break it would be nice. October is fun but the sisen is to short for October.

The summer wasn't that long. I'm just saying it was only two months. the summer wasn't that fun for me. I didn't go anywhere fun and my sister had a birthday party there was a bouncy house with candy too at the pinata we had that was boring kind of.

My summer seemed to fly by. I really enjoy having 8 weeks off in a row during the summer (I love the warmth and the sunshine!) and I think I would miss it if the summer vacation was shorter.
