Bennett Centre

I really liked the Bennett center.  Our instructor was named Kirsten.  She was very nice and helpful.

There was lots of interesting stuff to do. For instance building cars, boats and of course the creatures. They are my favourite.  We completed five tasks:

  1. Building a car;
  2. Using a balloon to power the car;
  3. Building a sailboat using car;
  4. Building a sailboat on water; and
  5. Building a creature.

My favourite activity was building the creature.  I ended up using the clips from bread packages, an egg carton, wires and two bottle caps for the eyes.  I also used a lot of hot glue!  Luckily, I did not burn myself.

I liked how Kirsten said there is animals in the washroom. I went to the washroom and saw an electric toilet but there was no animals.

I went on the bus with a  friend and got to sit with my friend percyjackson.

At the Bennett Centre we got to sit on logs and they look so real!!! I liked how we got to do all the races.

Did you have fun at the Bennett Centre?  What was your favourite activity and why?

  1. I actually really liked the Bennett Centre. I had tons of fun there, building boats, cars, etc. I think I liked building the creatures the best because it was my own design of a third class (how about no class?) lever meshed with a garbage can that has eyes and a mouth. But the other projects were a lot more frustrating than the creature because I knew how to make it easy to build, but workable.

My creature's mouth was made of two black containers strung together with copper wires and I used brads for it's eyes. I also used a hair roller and a wire twisted into a spring shape for it's body. I also installed a string on the back of his mouth so that when you pull on the string the mouth opens. It was fun!!!

  2. I liked the Bennett Centre. It was so fun because we did so many fun activities like the cars, boats, and the creatures! But I did not know what to do for my creature right away so I did not finish my creature.

My favourite activity is the car were you blow up the balloon and let it go and it rides because it looked cool and I liked blowing it up then letting go and watching it fly. It was not frustrating to modify my device because all I did was change it to make it better then try again.

My creatures body is from a toothpaste bottle with a toilet paper roll on top and it has two small egg carton for its jaw. I would have made it better but I ran out of time.

  3. I enjoyed the Bennett Centre a lot! I enjoyed it because there was a ton of fun activities to do!

My favourite part was making a creature. My creature is made out of 2 butter lids, 1 yogurt container, 1 milk carton, 1 wire, 1 stick, 1 egg carton piece, and a little bit of Sharpie work. It was fun!

Even though I had a lot of fun making cars and boats, It was sometimes dificult to modify. I still had tons of fun though!

Here are the things we made in order.

    1. a car
    2. a car with a sail on it. (boat 1)
    3. a car powered by a balloon.
    4. boat 2 (has no wheels or sail)
    5. a creature.

Making the car was the hardest part. This is how I did it, I took a piece of what looked like cardboard, glued some straws to the bottem, drilled holes in bottal caps, attached sticks to the bottal caps and put them in the straws. It was harder than It sounds.

  4. I was not here for the Bennett Center but I think I would love to be there. If I was there my favourite activity would be the car powered by the balloon. I think it would be fun for me. I love to be there building.

  5. I love the Bennett Centre I like the Bennett Centre because it is really traditional very classic it was really cool and awesome.

I love making the boat. It was fun but really splashy.

It was kind of a little bit frustrating when I was trying my best to modify every activity.

My creature was made of two plastic containers, a wooden dowel, a bottle and my hinge was a wire.

I had a really good time at the Bennett Centre. I hope we go there again.

  6. Yes I like the Bennett Centre. I like the day off of school I also like that my grandma was there to help. I made my creature out of wires and a milk carton and the cover of bottle cap. My favourite activity was making my boat.

  7. The Bennett Centre was really fun. I liked the the monsters and the balloon cars. It was really funny!

The Monsters was fun and a bit funny because there was lots of stuff we could use but not for the cars or even the boats. But we could use all the tools that were there could be useable. It was hard to change stuff (modify my monster) I cut my two containers and put holes in the back corners. I then put wire through and put a stick at the top.

  8. I liked the Bennett Centre! It was so much fun. My favourite part was the creatures. My creature name is Buddy. He is everyones friend. He was hard to make because I did't know what to do or make. After we went home Buddy arm fell off so now I'm waiting for my mom to put the arm on then I'm going to style him.

I hated the balloon car. My balloon had air bubbles but the rest was fun. Bye!

  9. I LOVED THE FIELD TRIP but one really weird part is when we were eating lunch some kids were looking at us and laughing when we were eating! Back to the point. The reason I loved the Bennett Centre is because we got to go for Science and we got to do experiments which were really fun but the one thing I did not like about the Bennett Centre is that in the boys washroom when you would flush the toilets they would make a really big noise which was annoying!!

My most favourite activity was when we made boats because they were easy to build and also I splashed The Big Ham with water (by accident!) but I did end up almost getting my boat to the end twice! But the down part is that we did not get our boats back :'''( .

I made a creature (like everybody else) but I did not get to finish him, he was supposed to have four legs and two arms but he turned out having one leg and zero arms with a crocidile head with a really black toung and eyes made of the wheels we used to make our cars! The other thing I made is a car but the wheels were really stupid at working/moving because the hole in the middle of the wheel was really big so I had to put the wheel on the axle (skewer) and then hot glue in the middle so they would not fall off!

  10. I really liked the Bennett Centre. At some times it got a little bit boring, but most of the time it was fun.

My favourite activity was making the creature, although I also liked the balloon powered car. I did not finish decorating my creature but I finished most of it. The balloon powered car did not work as well as some other things. For instance, the sailboat car. It was not very easy to modify any of the things that we made, but the one that was the hardest for me was the sailboat on water. Mine would not move at all!

Imagine this: Two Jello cups wired together with a popsicle stick glued on top. He also has one eye made out of Styrofoam and a hat made out of a shaving cream cap. For hair he has straightened paper clips glued on. I got burnt once and it hurt a lot.

  11. I enjoyed the Bennett Center a lot! It was so fun! It was fun to get out of school even for a day. Also we got to eat in a cafeteria and that was fun! I also liked our guide Kirsten.

My favourite activity was probably the creature because I liked how we turned useless junk into cute creatures. Mine looked a little like Olaf the snowman from Frozen so I named him Olaf.

It was a little hard to modify all my stuff and sometimes I didn't want to. Olaf had a rice pudding container on the bottom and a sour cream container on the top his mouth could open because I put wires between the mouth and the body I used a bread clip for buck teeth and a bottle lid for a hat.

  12. I absoultutly love it! I just loved everything but my favorite was the log chairs. Coolest chairs EVER! The things I did not like about are trip was the bathroom was noise which is quite irrating if you ask me and how hard it is to BLOW A BALLOON!
    My partner was candyruls5.

My favorite activity was the creature building because you could let your amjination run wild. It was not frustrating at all it was actually pretty easy.

I used lots of wire, a strawberry yogurt container, a feta container, a extremly small ice cream container [like the ones you find in the freezers at corner stores], hot glue, my name tag and a sharpie. I named my monster Fi-Fi.

  13. Okay so I liked and kinda a little bit not-like the Bennett Centre. The reason I liked it was because we got to do all these fun activities and make a bunch of stuff and experiment. The one reason I didn't like it was because I was kind of scared of the hot glue gun because everyone around me was getting glue on them and getting hurt and stuff and also putting the boat together was pretty hard but I'll talk about that later. Other than that the Bennett Centre was pretty cool!

The activities included balloon cars, cars, boats made out of cars, boats and creatures but my favourite activitie (by the way right now iIm not talking about making the things, I'm talking about using them.) was using the boat. It was really cool to watch it go and someone in my class broke the record! But then another person broke that record, so the person that broke the first record beat all the records again. In other words person #1 broke the record then person #2 broke it but then person#1 broke the record again. It was pretty hard and frustrating building the boat, though. Here were the steps: ( I think) 1. grab a meat tray and draw with sharpie four little pops up and four to the side and cut. 2. grab a small piece of plastic and with a ruler, draw an X on it and in the middle of the X hole punch it. Then this is the part where I got confused. You had to get an elastic through the plastic and make it stay there but I can't explain how. Thats where I got help from my friend. She showed me how and I got it! Then you had to put the elastic band thingies around Brad. (if you don't know what a Brad is, ask somebody, look it up, look in the stores you'll find it somewhere.) and you finished! Now all you need to do is wind it up!

If you looked at the actual BLOG then you should know that we also made creatures. My creatures was made up of a big yogurt container as the head and jaw. I used the salad dressing container as the body, empty toilet paper rolls as the legs and hands, and a little bottle thingy for the nose.

HOW TO BUILD "Timmy" (materials include: 1-2 wires, one big yogurt container and lid, small water bottle like container, 2-4 empty toilet paper rolls and one empty salad dressing container.) : 1. grab yogurt container and put two holes close to each other with hole puncher, do the same with lid. 2. tie wires onto the holes so that the wires connect the lid and the container. 3. grab stick and hot glue the stick onto the lid. 4.grab salad dressing container and hot glue onto container for body. 5. grab empty toilet paper rolls and glue on for legs and arms. 6. grab empty small long container thingy (kinda like a water bottle except more skinny and just a bit less skinny.) and super glue it onto contain as nose. 7.feel free to decorate!

Well thanks for reading my blog comment! bye!

  14. I really enjoyed the Bennett Centre. It was really fun!!! We build cars and put sails and balloons on them. My most favourite part at the Bennett Centre was making the creatures. It was like really fun school because we got to build really fun stuff. I also really liked making the boats and racing them.

My creature had a vitamin bottle for the body and 2 yogurt caps for the head. To join the jaw together I used 2 wires. And for the eyes I used 2 bottle caps. Three brads came in handy for me because I used them for the teeth. Then I used a stick to open and close the jaw. The last thing I used was half a bread bag closer for the tongue.

I had lots of fun at the Bennett Centre!!!

  16. I like the Bennett Centre. There was lots of cool old stuff.

My favourite activity was building the creature. It was cool looking at all the creatures with movable jaws. It was hard using the hot glue gun and I also burnt myself. I still have my burn.

  17. I loved the Bennett Center. It was my favourite field trip EVER!

My favourite thing I did was building the creature. I think it was VERY HARD to modify it all down.

My creature was very cute. I will tell you what it was made of:

    1/ 3 toulet paper rolls
    2/ 1 carten
    3/ 1 nut cantener
    4/ 1 lid
    5/ 2 tap rolls
    6/ 5 bred clips
7/ now you can make my robot

  18. To be honest I didn't really like the Bennett Centre. Whenever I attempted to make something that does with the car it didn't work as planned. But I still did it anyway and I guess you could say it was fun but for me it could have been better.

I still had a favorite thing to do though was also to make a creature. I made a baby and her name is Fou-Fou. And when we ate I hung out with my bestie paincakes.

My baby was adorable. Paincakes made the same monster and her name is Fi-Fi.

  20. Yes I did like Bennett Centre! I liked the Bennett Centre because we got to make cars, cars powered by a sail and a balloon, a boat, and a creature!

My favourite part was making the car powered by a balloon. my creature turned out to be a venese everything trap. It was made with a egg cartin and a piece of string.

  21. I like the Bennett Center because of all the good stuff we did. It was the best field trip ever.

    1. we did a car.
    2. we did a car with a sail.
    3. we did a car with a balloon.
    4.we did a boat.
    5. we did a creature

    It was fun.

My favourite thing that I made was the creature. It was the funnest thing in the field trip. It was pretty hard and easy to modify my creature. My creature's name was Luis The Rocketboosters. He was a good creature.

    My creature had
    1. 7 teeth
    2. 2 plastic cantaner.
    3. a string.
    4. 4 wheels on the bottom.

  22. I loved the Bennett Center it was amazing!!! The reason why I loved the Bennett Center is because well we were making our cars, boats, sailboats, balloon powered cars, a sail for our car, and building creatures. We were also learning how to build these things and Science. For example when we were building our creatures we had to make a movable jaw and I made a ''Second Class'' and we are in our ''Wheels and Levers'' unit and not everyone made a "Second Class'' some made "First Class" and some made "Third Class" like 3DS, she made a"Third Class".

My favourite activity was the creature because we could make whatever we wanted but it had to have a movable jaw. For me it was not at all hard to modify, it was not hard. Some people might have had trouble modifying it but ya it was not hard at all.

The things I used were a hard paper towel roll for the arms, two egg carton things that are on the bottom for it's eye's, a Vitamin C jar for the body, a cake container and the lid for it's head, and a wooden stick for the lever, and a wire to hold the cake container lid and it together.

So yes I did have fun at the Bennett Center and Kirsten.

  23. The Bennett Centre was awesome and the crafts were very very fun. My favourite activity was the balloon car because it was fast and it went far.

I think it was not very easy to modify but it was fun.

My creature was very very cool but it looked like the cookie monster with no arm's and nose. I love the Bennett Centre and everything in it.

  24. Who would like that building, seriously! That building is haunted! I just know it! Well either else from the scared-nest, (haunting) it was really fun. I loved all of the activities. It was also fun there as well!

My most favourite activity was building our boats for the water. I liked it because I was the first ever to get my boat to go 1 time around. But then muffingirl had her boat go around 2 times and a half. I went one more time and then my boat went 2 and a half times around as well! It was a tie and muffingirl and me broke the Bennett Center record for boat sailing. It was very frustrating to modify my boat but it was very fun!

MY CREATURE IS MADE OF JUNK AND IS USELESS!!! MY CREATURE IS SITTING ON MY DRESSER WAITING TO BE DONATED OR TROEN IN THE GARBAGE!!! No affence little guy but your going to have to wait for two years until your free!

My creature is made of: 2 big egg cartons, 2 small fruit containers, 3 pieces of wire, 1 piece of string, and 1 stick.

  25. Sadly i didnt get to go to the Bennett Centre. I had to sleep in. My mom was dealing with people in jail then we had to stay up late. But if I did i would love to build a hedgehog for a creature and if I made a car I would make a militray jeep. If I could, I would also make a nice and wide boat.

I bet the washrooms were more with Science in it. I dont think it was huanted or we would be dead. Some ghosts want to kill you.

If i was there for the water if you could do this I would put a little lifeboat. I bet the logs would be fun, well that would be fun but I didnt go but I dont really care.

  26. Well the Bennett Centre was cool and the room that we were in at the first part of our tour/work shop. My teacher said that the Bennett Centre was kind of a Social Studies and a Science kind of thing.

My favorite activity was the balloon car. So it was like a balloon/car type. The most frustrating thing was the balloon because I was blowing so hard and my cheeks were starting to hurt.

    - charizard

Well I did not make one because I burnt myself and then some one burnt me so my monster looked sucky but the jaw opened.

  27. I was at that field trip last year it was awesome. I loved building the monster. Mine at a chicken. It was fat and made out of a egg carton.
