Cup Stacking

Have you heard about cup stacking?  It is a sport that uses speed and coordination.  There are 12 cups that need to be stacked in particular combinations as fast as you can.

I love cup stacking!  I first learned it in class in Grade 5. The next day I asked my dad if he could get me them for Christmas, he said maybe. For Christmas I got a set of 12 from Amazon.  I got blue cups with a mat and a timer. For my birthday I got 12 more sparkly orange cups.  They are now my favourite to stack with.

There are three common combinations that need to be stacked.  They are the 3-3-3, the 3-6-3 and the cycle.  There is a particular order and method that needs to followed.  My record for the 3-3-3 is 3.6 seconds.  My record for the 3-6-3 is 5.4 seconds.  Last but not least, my record for the cycle is 8.7 seconds.  My favourite round to do is the cycle and my least favourite one is the 3-3-3 because it is too simple for me.  The 3-3-3 is three cups with two on the bottom and one on top - 3 stacks of 3.

In my class I am the fastest at the 3-6-3 because no one else in the class knows how to do the cycle. We haven’t learned the cycle in class yet. The only other person in the class who knows how is kitkatsmitsmat because I taught her how to do it at our sleep-over.

Do you like cup stacking?  Do you have or want a set of your own?

  1. I like cup stacking because it is fun.

My teacher took it away because we were fighting. Our class should be nicer to each other.

    I like all games.

  2. I think cup stacking is dumb because all you do is stack cups and see your records and nothing else but that and then you get bored.

I THINK the class got the cup stacking taken away because they were bad and I just say this because everybody says that. I don't even want them because they are so boring and stupid.

I would like to have Monopoly, chess, mini soccer and finally mini ice hockey because they are fun and not boring because cup stacking is boring. I would also like a couple of board games only because they're fun.

  3. Cup stacking doesn't bother me, (only a bit) so I don't bother it. My hands can't go as fast as my eyes and just freeze up when I go too fast or try too hard. So I tend to stay away from it. It's weird, really weird.

Cup staking was taken away probably because the majority of the students were yelling for the people in front of them to hurry up and/or they were too excited. That created a big blob of kids and noise, don't forget the actual game itself... I have an idea to get it back, how about we just shut our traps when playing and let the person focus on finishing FASTER. If we aren't yelling at then, they can consentrate on getting it done quickly.

Honestly, even though I am pretty sure I can't write off topic, I don't really enjoy board games. Yeah, sure, I might play one with my family time to time, but I just usually do stuff like reading a book, drawing a picture, writing a story, listening to BTS/k-pop(yeah, I'm one of THOSE people), sleeping or eating. Maybe just enjoying an online story, fan-fiction, anime or manga.

  4. I have never tried cup stacking but it seems cool. I never try though because lots of other kids want to try but the lines take so long I have to get out because I am impatient. Cup stacking now doesn't appeal very much to me anymore since lots of kids fight over it.

Cup stacking got taken away because kids would not stop fighting over it! I thought it was a very stupid thing to fight over because whats there to fight about! I feel like the fighting happened only because it was new game and everyone wanted as many turns as they could get. There were also some kids that would interrupt the person who was cup stacking and knocking over the cups. I do have a whole plan to get it back. First, we could try to be as sweet as possible, and when the teacher gives the cups back, two children will place it in the ceiling. Then we will start to fight, (I don't know maybe on purpose and maybe real) and she will take the cups. But, how will we fight with the cups hiding? Well, we will use a different set and ta da! We have a bunch of unlimited cup stacking sets!

I would like to see ALL of the Monopoly games, Googly Eyes, the Game of Life, and UNO.

  5. I love cup staking. It is a good game. I feel like purple tacos loves cup stacking the most. She talks about it all the time. I like it because its really fun.

We used to have cup stacking in our classroom. Everyone was fighting over it and it was really loud. Our teacher took it away and now we lost our privileges to play with it. If we be really good kids maybe the teacher will bring it back.

Here is a list of other classroom games we could play.

    1. Puzzles
    2. The Game of Life
    3. Clue
    4. Uno
    5. Dominos
    6. Checkers
    7. Chess
    8. Go Fish

  6. I think cup stacking is excellent because its a great activity to do when you`re bored or when you`re just doing it for fun! Plus you can actually learn a skill from that.

I think I might know how cup stacking got taken away from our class. First people were fighting over just a silly thing. Second people might have been rude to not give turns to people. Third people are being mean to each other and starts fights. So sadly that might have been how cup stacking got taken away. But I do have a few ideas of how to get cup stacking back. If we all cooperate and be kind or play fairly to one another we might have the cup stacking back!

My suggestions for some other board games are something that everyone can have fun at or something that is calming and does not cause any fights. Probably Monopoly, Life, Clue, Uno or even puzzles!

  7. I don't mind cup stacking because, its annoying sometimes but, its quite interesting. I do like the sound of the cups when it hits the ground but,it causes fights too.

In our own class we had cup stacking but two or three people had to ruin it for all of us. Someone had to be so loud and butt in front of people. That made people mad and frustrated them, students got in big fights and butt in front of other people. Our teacher got frustrated and took it away for a little bit. Then a student asked for it and after one person sees her playing with it people complained about it, so that's why. I hope we don't get it again.

I like to play board games like Life, puzzles, Tic-Tac-Toe, cup stacking, and lots more but sometimes I forget what the name is.

  8. In my opinion, cup stacking is a silly sport. I have never tried cup stacking, but just by watching other children playing the game and calling it a "hard sport," it was still silly. More then my class lined up to play the game with the cups,(I rather drink from them)! People say it is a really fun game, but I rather go outside in the cold. I definitely prefer to write my amazing books about my three cats. When the other children lined up to play the game, I was reading a book or making a book.

Some games that I would have joined in to play are Monopoly, Checkers, and Dominos. These three games are really fun and I'm suggesting them to you.

I have no idea why my teacher did not allow my class mates to not play the game, but I don't really care. My class mates really want for our teacher to allow them play the game and I see they are trying to get the game back. They could show respect so they can play the game.

  9. I think cup stacking is boring and a waste of time. I would like it more if I was better at it. I tried the cycle and got the worst time of 47 seconds. So I'll probably never play it ever again. I also tried the 3-3-3 and got 15 seconds.

I think my class got cup stacking taken away because lots of people were being loud and not listening to the lunch room supervisor and people were shoving people out of line. I don't care if cup stacking is allowed again because I hated it and will never like it.

I think some of the games that the teacher should bring is Monopoly because it is a long game and I think it is a very fun game. Another game she should bring is the Game of Life because I played it at nonameman's house and it was fun even thought I lost the first match but I won the second.

  10. I think that cup stacking is pretty fun because I tried it before at home. The 3-3-3 and 3-6-3 are easy.

The reason why we got it taken away is because everybody was loud, people were fighting to get to the first of the line because they wanted to be first to play it.

Some other games we should bring to class are Monopoly,Small World, Ticket to Ride, One Night, Pandemic, King of New York, Uno, Rush Hour, Battleship, Goosebumps, Settlers of Catan, Word Buzz, Catan, chess, checkers, Doctor Who Catan and Love Letter.

  11. I think cup stacking sounds cool but i have never tried it. I think I will try it one day. I will try it because everyone talks about it. They seem to be having fun.

My class got the cups taken away because one day we were watching a movie and the cups were in front of the screen and some people could not see. Then we were asked to move the cups some where else. But some kids did not listen and they were fighting.

I don't think that Room 14 should have the privolig of games in the class room because if you can't listen then maybe we can't listen now so we should not have them now. Before we get them we have to show we can be good.

  12. I want to cup stack because it looks fun, and I like having a talent because my family has talent, and I want to have a talent.

The cup stacking game got taken away because we were having an indoor recess and there was a movie playing and the line for the cup stacking game was in front of the SMART board and kids were complaining and someone told THEBIGHAM,but my plan is to move the cup stacking game to the back table.

Games I want to have in the class
    -Uno
    -Trouble
    -Monopoly
    -Guess Who and puzzles.

  14. I've heard of this cup stacking business, and I've tried it, but it's not my thing. I think that it is a silly thing to do. My smelly shoes are more interesting then it in my opinion.

Our class got cup stacking taken away because people were fighting over it (but not me!) anyway so our teacher took it away. People started groaning and mumbling. I didn't care. A way that we could get it back is being nice to each other.

Some games that I would like to play are: Monopoly, Pick Up Sticks, and Uno.

  15. I like cup stacking. It is a challenge. That's why I like it.

People were fighting, pushing and not getting along. I think if I beg her we will not get it back so I think our class should be better would be the right thing to do.

Some other games that would be good are Monopoly and Life. Other people was agreeing on it so it would be good for our class and we would be good and have fun.

  16. It sucks. Everyone who gets a good score brags a lot. Plus it gets in the way because if we are watching a movie if they're at the front of the room people watching the movie can't see.

We were pushing and fighting in the line. I don't think of getting it back. Just get rid of it. But a way is to be responsible and don't fight over little dumb things.

I would like to have Life or board games that are not as loud with braggers.

  17. I think cup stacking is quite a fun sport because you get to time yourself with a timer and see how many seconds you can do it. I never been to get to cup stacking, but I see students do it sometimes.

Our teacher took it away because kids were arguing, fighting who turn is it. I think everyone should be nice and be patient to take turns.

We should get some classroom games like Monopoly, Bingo, Game of Life.

  18. I love cup stacking because its a fun pass time and you are never done practicing which means you always have something to do when you're bored.

Our class got the cup stackng game taken away because we were fighting over it.

I think that we could just behave better.

Some games we could have are
    -Life
    -Solitaire
    -Sorry

  19. I think that cup stacking is great because it is fun and you can excersize your arm and you can be master of the game.

I got me and my class cup stacking because some one was fighting over it. I am so mad. That was a really fun game that was around lunch time. I miss playing that game and my idea to get it back is to listen to the teacher and not to fight over it.

I would like to see Uno in the class room for I can play with my friends and best friends.

  20. I think that cup stacking is stupid because every body was like its my tern. Let me have a tern and people was posing in line.

My class got cup stacking taken away because people was posing in the line and they were always fighting in line and I tell them to STOP fighting.

I like card games, Uno, Monopoly, checkers, Life, puzzles. Every game I like because you can play them when you have nothing to play.

  22. I like cup stacking because I get to stack cups and that's fun for me. Cup stacking is one of my favorite games. Do you like stacking? Well I do and what is your favorite?

We got like wild and crazy so the cups got taken away and that made everybody sad because that was one of the funnest game in the class.

I do like the cup stacking but its gone so now I have a new favorite game and if you have a favorite game tell me, okay? I'll tell you my favorite game. Mine is Monopoly, Uno, Game of Life.

  23. I think cup stacking is fun because it takes skill and patience. Some people do not like cup stacking but that cant ruin it for me.

My class got cup stacking taken away because everyone was fighting over it like we were in kindergarten. I have a small idea to get cup stacking back into our class. Everyone could start bring their own cups. The BIG HAM will see we would stop fighting over it then we get it back.

I would like to see a few more board games in my class. For example Scrabble, Sorry and checkers.

  25. I think that cup stacking is the most greatest thing ever aside to my pets because my friend purple tacos really really likes cup stacking and so do I. But I have never cup stacked before but it looks really fun to do. I hope one day I get to cup stack.

We got it taken away because we were fighting like animals about having a turn. I didn't care if I got a turn or not. I was just watching the video that was put on. It was about cup stacking. The BIG HAM put it on. My friend purple tacos got sent back to her desk.

I want the game Monopoly, Life, Minion Life.

  26. Cup stacking is so much fun. It was a really popular then. I was pretty good though. I stopped playing it when people started to push. After awhile I didn't like it at all. It was boring. I didn't like it because there was too much people there and it was starting to get out of hand.

We got cup stacking taking away because people in line were pushing to get to the front of the line. I was at the back watching the movie but I was laying on the table watching which is not allowed that might be the reason too.

I would really like to get Monopoly for two reasons: me and my Grandma always play and I usually win with about 6 500s 13 100s so on. I like it because I feel rich and always get paid. When I played with my mom I owned the whole board except not accept one property. She kept landing on the ones that you have to pay $50 000$ and I made sweet deals like only $50 or one property.
