I love when our school goes on a field trip to Snow Valley for our annual ski day. Unfortunately, we just heard that our trip has been cancelled because it will be too cold to go. I am really disappointed because I was looking forward to it and because my father was coming. It has been postponed for two weeks. Hopefully, there is still snow and that it will be warmer.
Last year on Ski Day I had a really fun time. I liked the food there and the hill. The lunch buffet was great because there was good food but not much variety. We only got to go through the buffet line once but it was fine because I took enough food the first time.
Last year I almost fell off the chair lift because I was trying to touch the pole. I'm not sure if that many people have gotten hurt there. I’ve never gotten hurt for some reason. I think it's fun because my parents don't take me that much because they only go to the hills that are close to my house. Last year I lost five dollars at the hill and I never found it.
I snowboard but I also know how to ski. And I think snowboarding is better because It is harder and more fun. I’m probably better at skiing because I have been doing it for longer. I’ve snowboarded for three years and it is fun. I will probably stay snowboarding. I have skied for about five years and now I have probably forgotten how to.

I am sad and happy that it got postponed because I have never been skiing there. But I am also happy it got moved because it is so cold.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because it is easy. I have never been snow boarding before, and I did not care which one I picked.
I have been skiing once before but don't have much experience but i think it will be fun. Also we are going with The Big HAM so we will get to teach her for once and get to watch her fall.
~icecreamlover
I think postponing ski day was a good idea because it will be cold. I also think it was a good idea because I don't like training with the people.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I kind of need some practice.
I chose that postponing ski day because it would be tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cold.
I think skiing is better because it is easier and much cooler.
~thedumbcow
I'm totally fine with it being postponed. I'd rather stay home by the heater instead of shivering in the cold. My mom bought so many snacks for us, but I guess I'll have to wait for another two weeks. Sometimes waiting is just better than freezing to death. I think everyone should be happy that we are at least going sometime this year.
ReplyDeleteI chose snowboarding because it is much more harder which makes it like a challenge for me to accomplish. I also don't like the buffet because I think they don't give you enough food in the tray. That's why I bring a lot of snacks because mostly enjoy sitting inside eating.
One year my gloves fell off and I couldn't find them. I forgot to pack a extra pair so I didn't wear gloves. Then later on in the day, there was frozen ice on my wrists. I went inside to wash my hands with warm water, and then I found my mittens in my lunch.
~POUTINEGROOT
Thank goodness ski day got postponed. If we went skiing on the the day that was really cold my mom would make me wear six layers. I was looking forward about going to ski day tomorrow but we still get to go so I am happy. I hope we would have good weather the day we are actually going.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because it is way easier for me. I HATE snow boarding because it is really hard to walk on those things. If the snow board was bigger and when you go down a hill you lay on it, I would have picked that!
I went skiing for three years now and I really liked it. All the times I went skiing I was hanging out with my
friends.
-fungirl
My thoughts about postponing ski day is horrible! Because I was looking forward to ski but it turns out we cannot. Although I would hate it if I was to ski in the cold winter air just trying to have fun. Hopefully on our new ski day it will be just the exact temperature to be skiing or snowboarding outside.
ReplyDeleteThe opinion I picked is to go skiing or snowboarding in the cold because I was so excited to ski and I really wish we could make ski day stay in the same day it was originally planned.
My skiing experiences are marvelous because I never had a bad experience skiing, although I do fear of breaking a bone or spraining it but I'm glad that those things never happened to me before.
-tsumtsum
I had everything ready for ski day but we had to move it in two weeks. Who cares if we get cold? Just stay inside for the whole day. But know I have to wait for ever.
ReplyDeleteSnow boarding is exciting. It's easy if you know what you're doing, but if you don't, your life will end. I did snow boarding when we started going to Snow Valley. I was getting better at it when I started.
I have been through lots of snowboarding experiences. I was putting on my snowboard and someone fell on top of me. It didn't hurt that much. I was stuck and I couldn't move but on the last sec I got off.
~kitkatsmitsmat
I don't really agree with the postponement because I was so excited but now I'm not because it has been move in TWO weeks. That is way too long for my opinion. WAY too long. I wish that the weather tomorrow was great so we can go.
ReplyDeleteI pick skiing because I'm scared to go snowboarding because this is my second year in here and I heard that somebody broke their leg,and that hurts like it really hurts.
I love skiing because it feels like you're on top on the cloud and air passing your face, but sometimes I fall because I get so nervous I just try to sit down. Do you like ski/snowboarding? Have you been skiing?
-puppylover
I was really excited to go skiing. Skiing day is amazing! I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it got postponed. But I guess it might have been too cold with the windchill, and it wouldn't be as fun. On ski day it does bother me that it got postponed because I am not the one who is lazy and stays and eats food.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because it's easier and they say you can make pizza with them. If you ski you have more balance - you're more stable. Skiing is really fun.
I have lots of experience. I have gone skiing 100000000 times(12)well actually 12,but I Know lots of tricks and stunts.
~nonameman
I am scared to go skiing because I got my tongue stuck to a pole.
ReplyDelete~thing2
I don't agree with the postponement because I was looking forward to skiing this year. But I sort of don't care because I could be staring at a screen while The Big Ham is teaching us.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because its easier and you can make pizza with it.
~gracie1on1
I do not like that it was postponed to the 23rd because I looked forward to it but i did not want to freeze so I don't know if I want it or not. At least we still get to go.
ReplyDeleteI picked snow boarding because I ski so I'm trying something new. Last year I did not like it because I got stuck on the bunny hill. But at the end the guy let me help the other kids in my class but I said no because I rather go free roam.
~freakymcgee
I do not like that the ski day got postponed because it might be really stinky and super hot and I was looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI chose to snow board because it's really fun, hard, and cool. My experiences is bad.
-soldier boy
I think that it's stupid because I don't care about the cold weather. They should not postpone it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because mom picked it for me when I said snowboard but mom put skiing.
I'm pretty good at skiing.
~MARKIPLIER
I happy they moved ski day to a different day because it would be very very cold but I`m really sad also because it`s a short day on Thursday. I hope I can go skiing with my parents. I hope it will be warm but not too warm so we can just go skiing.
ReplyDeleteI chose to go skiing because it`s super duper fun. Also I will probably go on the biggest hill this year. I hope I get to because last year I went on the little hill butif the snow boards were magic I would pick a snow board.
I`ve been skiing 5 years. I also think that skiing is very very easy.
~snoopy2
I hate that ski day has been switched to March 23rd. It's on a Thursday now. But I know that it was a good idea to switch it because it's going to be cold tomorrow so that means the kids are going to be cold.
ReplyDeleteFor this year I'm going snow boarding. I snow board every year. I went skiing one time. I like snow boarding because snow boarding is easier for me. I think that skiing is harder for me.
I picked snow boarding because it is easier for me. Other people think it is easier for them but it doesn't matter if people pick skiing or snow boarding. I hope that people have fun at Snow Valley.
~L8TER COPPER
In my opinion, ski day is an amazing field trip. In fact I wish that skiing would be every time we have to do physical education. I've skied many times so I won't get stuck in the mushy snow and then tumbling down like a snowball and ending up in a pile of bison poop. To tell the truth, last time I went skiing I did not fall once.
ReplyDeleteI go skiing a lot. I can do down hill skiing and cross country skiing. We use different skies, but I don't care. If I put one ski of down hill and an other from cross country, I think there will make no difference. Maybe I should try that experiment.
I'd definitely choose skiing. When people are snowboarding it looks like a duck.
~birdynumnum#1256
I think the postponement for ski day is useful for my family because last week I burnt a hole in my mitts with the leaf blower exhaust while clearing the snow. So it is useful to me.
ReplyDeleteThis year I picked skiing because when I go snowboarding I fall on my face 50 times but when I go skiing I fall on my face 30 times so I pick skiing.
My skiing experience is horrible and so is my snowboarding experience on the snowboards. I would rather go surfing on the snowboard.
~ConsumedCactus5
I really don't care about the postponement because I'm kind of excited. The weather on March 23 would be warm like last year.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because it is easier than snowboarding because I think it's a bit hard. I like skiing because sometimes I fall and I don't care about it. Also the lunch buffet was a bit fine because the line was so long that I could not wait.
~thing1
I'm mad it got postponed even though it is going to be cold tomorrow we still could have gone. You just need to dress properly. I was so excited. Tomorrow morning I was going to wake up early and get ready and come to school. I hope on March 23rd there is still snow and just a little bit warmer.
ReplyDeleteI picked snowboarding because I have never skied and kitkatsmitsmat and I always go snowboarding but for our last year grade 6 we might go skiing.
One of the worst experiences I had were last year my brother broke his wrist. I cried the whole way back to school but realized later I did not have to. Also one time I had to get to my lesson but I was stuck at the top of the hill with a broken snowboard.
~purple tacos
It is super terrible because I love skiing and eating from the delicious buffet. Also I love to see people fall over but not if seriously injured and I don't want to fall myself.
ReplyDeleteI love to ski because it's way more easier because if one ski falls off your foot you have one more ski. I like it very much because I am someone who is very used to skiing. Some people say snowboarding is easier but it's just their opinion. In mine I prefer skiing. I think we should just go out skiing because waiting really takes long.
In skiing once someone's snowboard fell on my head. They were in the chairlift.
My ski times are bad and good. The good part is when I was in grade 2 I went down the big hill. Bad thing is that when I go on ramps it feels like my leg just got broken.
~Bob The Unicorn
I wanted to go to the ski hill but I can't because it got too cold and was postponed.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because snow boards are too dangerous.
I fell off my snow board and I almost broke my leg.
~pokemon
I am sad that Ski Day is postponed because I love this field trip and I waited all year for it. I hope the temperature is just right.
ReplyDeleteLike every time this day comes I ski, but in grade 1 I snowboarded, but I wiped out so I skied every day since.
In grade 1 when I snowboarded, and I wiped out since I was more shy I got embarrassed, and again on Family Day I got my ski stuck in the net.
-puppydoggy84
I was really looking forward to that ski trip! It's a bummer that we can't go anymore. I mean, what if it suddenly gets oh-I-see-you-were-very-bummed-about-this,-let-me-help-you- warmer tomorrow?? What then? Well, shoot. Then we have got a little problem. Buuuuut, that's not what I'm worried about. My dad basically took that whole day off for nothing! What now? But at least we even get to go.
ReplyDeleteI picked skiing because, well, first of all, it's just easier for a lot of people (including me). If I was snowboarding,it would be like I was a baby! What I mean is, I have no experience whatsoever, with snowboards. Nor do I want to. I just think skiing is the thing for me.
Warning, DO NOT try the following things at a ski hill, or at home, or anywhere for that matter. It just won't work out. The results will probably, or most definitely be the same. So you see, I strive for excellence in basically anything (like most people). But you NEED to understand that I also don't take failure well. Or disappointment, for that matter. I get very paranoid when trying my best or failing. You may have picked up the hints, but I'm trying to say I ALWAYS try my best. That includes skiing.
Once, I was going down one of the biggest hills with my sister and dad and there were a ton of other people there. (You can probably see were this is going). So, you see, me,(being me) decided it was a completely great idea to go down the hill at full speed. In front of all these people!:D (What was my brain thinking, well, friend I'm asking the same question). They all went down at the same time as me, and I was way ahead of them. Speed and me, we aren't good friends. It's a love-hate relationship. Long story short, I ended up falling face first into the hill in front of everyone,(including my family) and had to walk on a limp for the rest of the day. Not fun.
~Diddley Squat
I hope your class gets to go skiing on the makeup day. It is a lot of fun to spend time with friends and skiing. I have only skied a few times, but enjoy it more each time. The first time I ever skied I crashed so many times I decided to quit. It took me several years but I ended up trying to ski again and this time it made more sense. I'm still pretty timid about skiing, but enjoy it anyways.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time on the hills, Forest 14!
