Today the Grade 4 representatives of the Student Council surveyed all the Grade 4s on a couple of questions. They wanted to know:
A. What charity would the Grade 4s like to support?
B. What fundraising activity should they use to raise money?
After a secret vote (heads down, hands up), the popular choices were a pet shelter charity and an ice cream sale to raise money.
There were a lot of choices provided for charities such as cancer, hospitals, homeless people, African missions and many more. Thinking of activities to raise money was more difficult. Most of them had to do with food sales.
Imagine if our school raised ONE MILLION DOLLARS for charity and we were able to spend it on anything we wanted, including charities. What would you like to see? Would you keep it all for the school or would you donate it all to charity? Maybe you could give half away and spend the other half on new equipment for the school?
What would you do?

In the survey some of the choices that I chose were: used toy sales, and book sales, also a bottle drive. Why did I choose that? I chose that so we as a school can donate to some charities.
ReplyDeleteSome of the charities I would like to donate to our British Columbia Forest Fires. I also would like to donate to vaccination Africa. There was one more I chose. That was Homeless shelters. Maybe we can raise enough for two!
If we as a school could raise more then $ 1 million then I would probably spend half on our playground and other things the school needs. For the other half I would give to people in need so charities like B.C. forest fires or cancer research and lots of others because a lot of other people deserve more.
I would not like to see new equipment in the school. I would just really like for over the summer to have renovations in the whole school even the playground. But we are spoiled. I would like for the teachers to have new supplies and a new desk and chair for them.

In the survey I voted to help with the BC forest fires and to raise money to build another playground. For the cancer vote I voted for kids with cancer.
ReplyDeleteI will take half and give the rest to charity. Like give some to the homeless people. Because I feel bad for them when there's a storm outside.
The new things we should get. Every kid in the school gets a Lamborghini and each kid gets a iPad or a iPhone 8. I would take the iPhone 8 because I need a new phone. My phone is cracked bad.

I think that this is an entertaining blog post because I am on student council and I could tell you how it like to be on it.
ReplyDelete1. I really enjoy student council because I could share my opinions. I can also help the school and its students. Maybe giving out donation to someone else.
2. I could try to make this year better.
3.Since this is my last year at elementary school I could do something fun and exciting so I can remember the school for ever.
In my class we wanted to donate to the orphanage and the children's hospital. Some of the boys in my class wanted to give money to koala bears because they are cute, but I think that they meant that they wanted to give money to the zoo. I think that we picked cancer foundations. I said on my statement that we had already gave money to hospitals and children with cancer, but it is also important to help other children in need. It is very sad that we are not going to be giving out money to the orphanage because it would have been our first time to do something nice to children that are without parents. I do, however, have a great idea that allows us to do both. We could collect bottles and exchange the bottles for money at the bottle depot. Then the would give this money that we can spent to buy candy for candy grams or other things.
If we would somehow collect one million dollars, I would give the money to the orphanage but with one condition. The orphanage must give the million dollars to the hospital. That way, the orphanage would be able to get money from the government because they are donating to a charity. I just think that that is how it should go. I am alright with that.
