Running Club

Our school has started a new club run by a Grade ⅚ teacher.  It is called the Running Club.  This is a club created mostly for exercise.  There is also the chance to compete with other schools in a race.  It is a relay race where there are eight runners who each have to run 200m around the track to see which team is the fastest.

I joined and I’m currently in it.  I joined Running Club because I love running and I want to go to the Butterdome with my friend.  I joined last year to see what it was like and I loved it so I joined this year.

The practices are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  We have to get here at 7:55 a.m., then we start with warm-ups at 8:00 a.m.  In Running Club when we get here we go to the gym and play British Bulldog, then we do ABCs. A is high knees, B is kicking your butt, C is sticking your leg out then straightening it. When we are all done those we go in the hallway where we walk, then jog, then run as fast as we can, and then we race.  Two people line up at the end doors and then we run to the other side and back. After we race, we change our clothes and go back to class.

    I can't stand running, even though I'm forced to do it when I'm at CrossFit. When I run, I lose my breath, my legs to hurt and eventually I can't breathe. Why do people do this and seem to enjoy it?! I don't understand and I probably never will. You know how people say they get endorphins when they run? Well, I've never experienced those feelings. In fact, I always seem to run into a wall (not literally).

    Exercise is good for the body. Everybody should include exercise as part of their health regimen in addition to a good night's rest and healthy eating.

  2. I don't enjoy exercise because I don't enjoy moving. I'd rather
    stay in my bed watching YouTube than going outside running and getting rid of my energy.

    I never wanted to run so I didn't even bother thinking about joining Running Club because I would always be the last one and feel embarassed.

    My dad said that if you run you live longer. I want to live longer but I also want to have energy while I stay as a child. I don't exercise often. I only exercise when I have to.

  3. 1. My thoughts on running? Well it's not really my cup of tea but running is amazing because it reminds me of a really funny vine by TheGabbieShow. Plus running is like skating and I love skating. I mean who doesn't love skating.

    2. I really wanted to join Running Club but my mom said I couldn't ride my bike in the winter. At least I tried. I told her they salt the sidewalks everyday but she said no it's way too cold.

    3. Why do people need to exercise? Because it's very healthy. If you're not fit you won't be as healthy when you're older. I like to stay fit but I mostly like skating. That's kind of like running, right?

    No I didn't join last year for Running Club but I'm glad I'm in Running Club this year.

    I like to exercise because it is good for my body.

  5. I think that running is okay but I like it better when you get to pass stuff while you`re running or in games but I don`t like to just run. I also like to race with my friends.

    Yes I have considered joining RunningClub but I don`t know if I am yet because I have to walk my brother to school in the morning and he is not old enough to join. But I would love to.

    People need to exercise to keep their bodies healthy and there immune system running well. It is really good for you. i exercise twice a week because I have basketball practice on Wednesday and have a game on Saturday.

  6. I think running is great for me because it warms me up and makes me pretty tired.

    I am in Running Club because I think I am a fast runner.

    I exercise because it is good for me.

  7. I think running is okay because it is fun but is very tiring.
    Not that I don't like it I just don't hate it.

    I didn't join Running Club because I felt like I had too much to do like soccer,skiing and school. So yeah, I didn't really want to join at that time.

    People exercise so they do not become lazy. Like I said I do a lot of skiing so I guess that's exercising.

  8. This week there is such a big deal about Running Club and this Lil Windex person is saying his big race is 200 m.

    In my old school I was in the running club. In my big race I had to run seven kilometers. 200 m was my practice.

  9. I hate running because I always get tired and it sometimes hurt when I walk even if I walk around when we finish R.A.C, I don't like getting tired.

    I didn't join Running Club because I get easily tired and a little hurt and I'm too lazy as well. I don't like running anymore.

    We need to exercise so they get much healthier and stronger and faster and live longer. I do not exercise at all unless you're talking about R.A.C. I did exercise but I stopped. It was getting harder and harder so I stopped. It would hurt me sometimes.

  10. I LOVE RUNNING! To me I think it is amazing. I think everybody should have no choice but to go in Running Club. I just think it is good for you because it keeps your blood flowing and your heart pumping and it's just FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I`m already in Running Club. I've been in Running Club for two years because I enjoy running and Running Club.

  11. I think Running is OK. Running is fun if I run in a game I like. Running is fun in soccer and basketball but it is hard to run sometimes.

    I do not want to join Running Club because I will be late for it.

    People need exercise because it keeps your heart pumping.

  12. I love running because it entertains me and I sometimes hurt myself and I can't walk for 30 seconds and I get annoyed.

    I didn't join Running Club and I didn't want to and I was not interested but next year I might. I don't really know how fast I can run but I think I'm fast and I don't care if people think I am slow.

    I think people need exercise to keep their body healthy and energetic to keep awake. I exercise four times a week and I just go swimming every Saturday for some exercise.

  13. I think running is horrible! I don't like it but in Taekwando we run everyday.

    I didn't join Running Club this year because you have to wake up so early and I don't wake up early.

    People need to exercise because it's healthy for your body.

  14. I hate running because it makes me tired, but running is also an exercise that make us awake. Sometimes in the morning in school we have R.A.C so we're going to wake-up and have an exercise.

    No I never joined in Running Club because 7:55 is early and I need to wake up early.

    People need to exercise because it's good for our body. I exercise but not in our house. I exercise in the school because we need it sometimes, because in Phys. Ed class we're playing so we need an exercise.
