Tests are something that you take in writing to see what you know about the topic. I get tests in all subjects except Phys. Ed, Music and Language Arts. In Grade 4, I think we get a lot of tests. I think that we even get too many tests.
As I get into higher grades, there are going to be even more tests. I have to study a lot but I only like to study sometimes.
If I had to choose tests that I sort of like, it would be math tests because some of them are pretty easy for me.
I do not like taking tests because some tests are hard. Sometimes, we don’t have enough time to finish a test and other times, I didn’t remember to study so that makes it even harder.
I sometimes do well on tests when I study but when I don’t study, I fail. I tell my parents when I fail a test and they get a little bit mad. If that happens, they don’t let me watch television and they take away my electronics.
How do you feel about tests? What do your parents do when you don’t do very well on a test? What are some other ways besides tests that teachers can use to see if you know how to do something?

I think tests are fine. I always ask other people what their marks were and then I show my marks. That's why I think they're fine.
ReplyDeleteMy parents just don't care about my marks unless I get very bad (I haven't even gotten very bad). If I did get very bad I'd probably not have my electronics nor other amusement for a few weeks! I try my best on tests so that doesn't happen to me. I usually rush my tests so I don't usually get 100%.
Some ways teachers could test children with out tests is with worksheets. If you don't know what a worksheet is, it is a piece of paper with some fill in blanks. We do this at my school but we use textbooks. Sometimes you could use the Chromebooks but not at my school.

I feel that tests sometimes are a waste of time but sometimes are a bit fun. I like tests when they are math tests. I do not do that well on the tests because I don't like to study that much. I like to do blue sheets instead.
ReplyDeleteWhen parents see that I didn't do well on the test I get grounded or I just play with the tablet for 10 minutes. I don't agree that grounding me and playing in the tablet for 10 minutes will be a good thing to do when a grade four child gets C and B on a test.
The teachers can do instead of tests can assign one page for homework. That is what we do in Mexico: tests and three pages for homework.

I prefer Math tests only because it's easier and more funner. Other tests like Science and Social are very complicated to some kids precisely like me and some other kids. My parents prefer me to pass every test and not fail it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I don't do good at a test my parents send me to my room for three hours straight. Even If I have to miss dinner I have to stay in my room.
Teachers should give test but after a month probably to be fair to the kids because teachers tell the kids that they are having a test then after five days they have a test.

I don't really like tests because I have to do so much work trying to remember what I studied but they actually show how much you studied or learned too.
ReplyDeleteBut when I don't bring my homework or something for a test then my Mom and Dad get angry. I actually forgot what happens when I don't bring my homework or something for a test. I do not want this to happen to me anymore but that's just because I don't bring my stuff. Sometimes I just be calm and be lazy all day not thinking about it anymore.
Sometimes teachers can use scrap paper...or just line paper too! Even a white board that is the best!

I think tests are a very good idea. Usually I compete with my friends to see who is doing better so that we can all see which one of us needs to study more. My strongest subject is Science. Usually I do fairly well on my tests, as my worst mark was 74%.
ReplyDeleteSince I do pretty well on tests most of the time my parents say something like nice job. One time I got 84% and my mom said what happened? I think that's a fair treatment. I agree. I should have done better on my Social test.
Sometimes my teacher does something called Jeopardy. I think that a little bit of Jeopardy and a little bit of tests is a nice balance. I am pretty sure half of my class would disagree.

I think that tests are fun. Sometimes I like doing Math tests and Science tests. This year I have gotten a C and B and an A. I usually get an A or a B. I have only gotten a C in Social.

I think tests are also important to you because if you don't get a test you don't know if all of your answer is correct. If your parents ask you what you've learned and ask you how, why and what that topic is. On tests, sometimes I did great and sometimes I don't.
ReplyDeleteMy parents get a little bit mad at me when I didn't do well at tests because they thought I didn't review well and they always says you need to work hard. My parents sometimes ground me like the blogger said, and I need to read books instead of going on my electronics and I agree with it.
The other ways teachers can use instead of tests is by doing a Kahoot or maybe by doing Pictionary on the board and answering the question.

I love tests! They help me do much better in school. I always do very decent on my tests. Even though I always get an A on my tests my parents expect me to do well on my tests so I don't get rewarded. As it should be.
ReplyDeleteI have never done bad on a test but I don't always study because I know I am going to do good. Once on a test it asked me to tell what level of sprocket on the bike to use when you go up a hill and when you go on a flat surface. I said flat surface = low sprocket and hill = high. That's the only thing that was keeping from a 100.
Some other ways to learn instead of a test is Jeopardy, Pictionary, stand on your chairs, and blurt it out.

I think it is okay that teachers give tests because if they did not give tests why would we learn stuff. On tests I do good and not so good too. Sometimes if I don't do well on a test my mom will plop me in my room for like 30 minutes.

For tests I love them. They are the best thing ever in life. My life is all about tests. I do okay on them but I get like an A or a B. My worst mark on a test is a B and I was close to a C but not a C.
ReplyDeleteMy family members don't really like tests but I do. I can do soooo many tests in one week. It will also take me maybe a long time to do tests. It will take me about 20 minutes to write a test. My favourite kinds of test are Math tests, Science tests and even Social tests but my really favourite kinds of tests are math tests.
If I don't do good on a test they will say okay do better on your next test in that kind of work. I do agree with that because everyone that is in my family does good and more too. I really hope my next test will be really good and I get a A. I don't like when my family members help me to study. I only like when my dad or mom helps me. If I do very very good I get to on my electronics for more time or for very more times.
My teacher wants to make us do tests but she also said that she wants us to make up something instead of tests to learn and so she can see what we do too. I think that we can do Pictionary and do work on paper and then hand it in. That's what I think we can do or we can do like tell it like in her ear. I do not like when we don't get our tests back. I like tests really fast or really quiet but I love like I mean love tests so much. I like how my teacher can forget to give us our tests back and she always gives our tests back after like one or two weeks later. Also sometimes my dad and mom said do way way better next time.

ReplyDeleteMy mom always hate when I do not go to Taekwando. But sometime my mom let me stay to study.
In grade five we do not get much test. On Science we just get one test or two. In Social we do not really get much. I think we have three or two tests.
When I got a low mark on my test, m dad say try good next time.
But if I got a good mark my dad is happy. But I do not really get grounded.
I think the teacher should be doing a worksheet or in the computers or open book instead of written tests.

I think test are amazing because they help show you what you accomplished and what you did not. Another reason I like tests is because I usually get good marks like 95, 92 or 84 percent, mostly an A.
ReplyDeleteMy punishments usually are no electronics, no T.B. and no Lego, only reading. I think its really cruel. Don't tell her [my mom] I said that. And that is why I try to do my best on my tests.
