Every year our teacher buys a Lego themed advent calendar for the class to open. An advent calendar counts down the days until Christmas. There are 24 doors to open. She chooses a random stick and that person gets to open up one door. This year she bought a City Lego one.
There are many different kinds of advent calendars. A lot of them started out as one candy each day and now they have so many of them. They have toys, cosmetics, teas and coffees in addition to a whole bunch of other goodies.
At the end of the month, she chooses one student who receives the entire display and the extra pieces. Luckily for me, I won it last year and I still have it somewhere in my house. At my house, I also have an advent calendar. I have a Spiderman one but I haven’t started opening it yet. I got it for my birthday which was a few weeks ago.
What day do you think you are going to open? What do you think about advent calendars. If you could have any type of advent calendar you wanted, what kind would it be?

ReplyDeleteThe rise in popularity of advent calendars in the last few years is amazing! I think it's a great idea although it does use a lot of packaging. The idea of opening up a little door everyday and receiving a special gift or treat sounds like a great one. It would be something that would brighten up my day everyday, for at least 24 days.
I noticed a lot of advent calendars that I would like but I especially would like either the David's Tea one or the Harry Potter one. It's strange to choose either of those because although I like tea, I only really drink one or two flavours so to have a different flavor for 24 days might just be a little too much. As for the Harry Potter one, although it's one of my favourite book series, what would I do with 24 plastic characters?
I enjoy watching the students' faces as they open their Lego door, assemble the piece and arrange it on the display. Many children do not get a chance to do something like this in their own homes so I am happy to provide this opportunity. It just makes December a little more festive.

I think that the idea of advent calendars are an amazing idea because you can remember the days or the countdown or even open a present with chocolates or Legos or tea or even make up. I think it is an amazing idea.
ReplyDeleteI love a lot of calendars. I've seen them in stores in Walmart, in houses and even my house. But I think that my favorite one is the Lego one because I love Lego and to build but also I like the Ferrero one too because I love the chocolate they have.
I wish that I could open door number 14 because it is the day of my birthday and my number and my classroom's number. But I think I am not going to get to open a door because in one week I am going to Mexico so I think I am not going to get one.
The one I have at home is a Lego one it costs a lot of money but my mom still buys it. I love my calendar because I get to open a day and build something.

Advent Calendars give joy every day, with a surprise inside each day. There is many kinds of Advent Calendars, like Lego, chocolate, make-up, tea, and more. I like the idea of advent calendars, especially the Lego Advent Calendar, and chocolate ones. Also I like the idea of Advent Calendars too, because it´s a fun way to wait until Christmas, instead of feeling that you can´t wait, and always being so bored, having nothing really to do, or think of.
ReplyDeleteI would really like to have a Lego Friends Advent Calendar, which I have one, but I wish they still have a little set where you can play with them on your Advent Calendar. Like a little play set, but I wish I could have both, Chocolate and Lego, Advent Calendars.
I don´t really know which door I´m going to open, but for luck, I may guess, the 25 day, because it´s my lucky number.

I think advent calendars are amazing because I think the idea of a piece of whatever for 24 days is a good way to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteI think I would want a David's Tea advent calendar or the Body Shop one because I love tea and I am very dry sometimes so the Body Shop one would work.
I wish to open day 13 but I think that I will get day 18. I want to get day 13 because that was the time I was born and because it is my favourite number.

I think advent calendars are AWESOME. This morning and yesterday I opened one. First I got a star on day one and today I got a duck. They are so yummy and on the back there is a picture on the back were you can colour it.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice I would choose probably the Harry Potter one because it does look nice and Harry Potter does sound like a good movie, book series or a TV show to watch. No, really it sounds good. Who would agree!
If I opened a door I guess it probably would be day...24. Why I don't know it just seems to be the right one to me. Twenty-four is just the best number I could think of and not because it's Christmas Eve, I just like it.
The one I have at home is a one with kids playing hockey on ice. it looks really good with colour. Again day one was a star and day two was a duck. I love advent calendars. And I really love your post doggywarrior, very good. That`s why I will always love Advent calendars. I think I might just use them when I'm an adult too.

I love advent calendars and it is a good idea. That way you have one type of chocolate a day and to get some energy. Some people might say oh they are horrible and that they don't like chocolate.

If I had one I will wish to open silly elf chocolates. I never had one before but this year I will ask my mom for one. My cousins get one every year and two years ago I watch them all open their calendar.
In fact I was the first kid to open the door. I sure was lucky.

I like the idea of an advent calendar, then you can be excited for all of December, not just Christmas! Every year I get a Lego advent calendar, but this year we got a chocolate one. I do not like it. I gave it to my brother and when I did my brother was so happy, he looked like he was going to explode! Next year we are just sticking with Lego.
ReplyDeleteIf I was going to get an advent calendar, I would buy a lotion one because my hands get SO dry in the winter time. I also think that a gummie bear one would be cute. But, the gummie bear has one disadvantage,the gummie bears can dry out!
I wish to open door number 12 because my birthday is in the twelfth month. I don't think I well get number 12. I think I will get number seven but that is my dad's lucky number.

I think that advent calendars are a waste of money because they are expensive and only lasts 24 days.

The door that I would want to open is door 8 but I think I will open door 15 because my name gets picked not that often.
