I think that I should have a
phone. But my parents will not let me have
a phone. I think that children ten and up should be able to have a phone. I think that everybody should have a phone in
case of an emergency. But I do get that
if you get hurt at school, there is sure to be someone who will phone your
parents. But what if you get hurt and
nobody is there to phone your parents.
What would you do then? Would you
just sit there until somebody comes?
In class you should be able to
have phones. I think that we should be able to have phones in class because
then we could text our friends. The only thing though is that if we were
allowed to have phones in class, everbody would be texting and then we would
all get our phones taken away.
I want to know if you agree with me.

I have a phone. I really like having one. I mean, it's not like I text 24/7, but, yeah. I like having one.
ReplyDeleteBut just because you have a phone does NOT mean you should bring it to school. And also, who would you text? Most of your friends are in class with you, so what would you text? "What are you doing?"
But you should be allowed to bring your phone if you ride the bus or walk home, just in case.
My point has been proven! ;D

Yeah I agree too but it's not really that good that we should have cell phones in class because we wont be paying attention and we wont learn if we don't. But I still do agree with having cell phones when we don't have anybody to get help or help you. Some times we need rides to get home and if we get lost or anything because some of us might get lost somewhere and all that.
ReplyDeleteI know that some of us have cell phones and other stuff to call people. But I just want to say that I do have a cell phone but I don't even know where my charger is for it so I cant even use it witch really sucks because I cant text my friends or anything but I'm sure some of you children know how it feels being bored not getting to use your phone.

I probably think that we should be able to have our phones in class.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason that I think we should be able to use our phones, is if we need it. Not for things like texting and listening to music. Actually, the only thing we would need from our phones are the calculators in it and maybe the memory to write things down. Not that many people in our class even have a phone, so the people who have one should be able to use it.
I do have a phone, but I don't really use it in class because most of the time I don't even need it. I already have a calculator in my desk but if I can't find it, I should be able to use my phone. even though people aren't allowed to use them, they still do and just say that they don't care.

I sadly (for you) do not agree Mr. yogi bear (if that is your REAL name). Why is we are too young to understand fones (purposely misspelled). If you can understand the phone you are 14+ or so. I can not be sorry.
ReplyDeleteI have an iPhone but I mostly use it to text my mom when I leave for school, get to school, go home, and get home.
ReplyDeleteI think ten and up is a great age for a cell phone.
But are you serious! You think we could handle cell phones in class.
You're nuts! Absolutely nuts!
We're wild enough in class without phones!
We'ed be hiding them under our desks and texting like crazy!

I think that we should also have cell phones too. I also think that we should be able to have our I-pods also. Not to fool around with it. But, too have it to listen to music when we are working, or to read during D.E.A.R. Also to have something to do at recces.
ReplyDeleteMy mom won't let me have a phone even if I pay for it by myself. That's soooo unfair. I also have my one I-Pod touch that my dad bought me a while back and I play with it all the time.
See you soon
@ sweetpea
I for one disagree completely one you can get a phone any time from zero to 1483920347837895 if you live that long. We should not be allowed to have cellphones in class because what is this **** about texting in class. That's what the teachers want to avoid.
ReplyDeletewhat is ****
DeleteI AGREE!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally think kids ten and up should have phones. I mean we are totally mature enough, old enough and desparate enough for one. It really sucks when your older sister/brother gets a new phone and they are all like "JEALOUS MUCH"? Then you can't say no because of pride but inside you are saying "YES, SOOOOOO MUCH".
I agree with you about having phones but not having them in class. The only way we could text in class is if the teacher was texting us the questions and we were texting her the answers. Nice try though.
Awesome blog!!!

My Mom and Dad won't let me have a phone either. My Dad doesn't even have a phone! So why should I have one? HMMMMMMMM!?!?!? Anyway, if I do get a cell phone, I would like one like my Mom's. It is one of those phones with the touch screen, but not an IPhone. I REALLY want a cellphone, Mom and Dad!
ReplyDeleteOh ya! I do not think having a phone in class is good. It would distract half of the kids (including me) which would then distract everyone else!
That's my opinion. See ya!
~~~~Khajiit~~~~
No NEVER!! WHY SHOULD WE? There are like thousands and thousands of phones in school and texting ah texting will 1. Will bring you down in studies 2. Will make you have troubles in future 3. Will make teachers YELL at you and at last because I don't have one.
ReplyDeleteSo my thinking is no phones but i am not sure about you so see ya!
I kind of agree that everyone ten and up should have a phone because that most of them are responsible...MOST!! And that brings me to why I don't agree with it, some of the 10 year old kid..they get unlimited texting and all they do is call!!! So I think they should change it TO 11+!! i I wish that I have a phone!!
ReplyDelete-boodasnip
I agree with you that we should be able to have phones in class. But then no one be paying attention in class, but I don't really care!!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a phone, until Thursday. That very day I was with my friends while biking. Then while I was biking right by Mc.Nally :'( I looked for my phone but I couldn't find!!! I'M SOOO SAD *tear*
Well SEE YA LATER
I can understand why children want to own a cell phone; they are really cool in addition to being useful, especially if you own a smart phone. You probably already get a chance to play on your parent's phones already, so why not own one of your own?
ReplyDeleteMany of you have mentioned that "ten" is a good age to own one. I'm a little perplexed as to what one would do with a cell phone, especially in school. Your friends are sitting beside you in class and you wouldn't be able to play games on them during class time anyway. Why would you want to pay a monthly bill for texting when you could whisper to the same person when you're in class? I chalk it up to children wanting access to the same things that adults have - an age-old problem - kids want to grow up too fast.
For those that think that a cell phone will help in an emergency - yes, I agree. But you know how people used to contact people in the "dark ages"? We used something called a telephone that was attached to the wall using a cord - I think the proper term is "landline."
I think that if children want to own a cell phone, then they also should be responsible enough to pay the monthly bill.
Just my two or three cents...
Hear, hear!
DeleteI also agree that if young teens want to have their own cell phone then they should pay for it. Though it should be up to the parents if the kid pays by money or take on more chores around the house. It cant be just a one way win. Plus what ever the teen is doing on their cell parents or teacher should be linked to a "spy" site. That would be the only way how to control texting bullying. In fact I dont think texting during class would be fun. Would you really be ready to give up your privacy??
DeleteI already have a cell phon it is a tuch phon but i get bouered off it i anly yous it when i go out. or when i am boured i go on facebook on it. a cell phon isnt a toy it is a tool. If i lost my cell phon i would have a fite becouse i have to pay for it. so if you want a cell phon you need to pay for it.
ReplyDelete- PAPA SMURF
OH MY GOD!!!! I am so close to getting a cell phone I can taste it! It tastes not so good.... Any way, I WANT A PHONE SO BAD! I get one on my 12th birthday, I am 11 and am turning 12 in the summer. I can not wait.
ReplyDeleteThe phone I want is an iPhone 4s and I am paying for the phone. I love it! My mom has one and sometimes we play with Siri.
An other thing is that I do not think it would be a good idea to text in class because that would affect our learning.
