My classroom's SMART board has been flickering blue from grade 4 to NOW!! One time this year, the SMART board screen turned METALLIC, and I don't mean a nice and normal screen, IT WAS A BRIGHT PURPLE!!!!!! The Big HAM is wondering when someone will get a seizure from the SMART board. >:D Ok, so back to the blue-tinted screen. The Big HAM is trying to get the SMART board to tint its screen blue and flicker so then The Big HAM can record the video, BUT, its like the SMART board is watching our every move. When The Big HAM tries to get the SMART board to tint its screen blue and flicker, it stops flickering.
There was a time in grade 4 when it flickered like crazy. But one day this year during math, the SMART board was flickering, then The Big HAM had brought out a video camera, turned it on and set it on the SMART Document camera, but then the SMART board stop flickering. Now, we need MORE witnesses to tell the Tech guy that THE SMART BOARD IS FLICKERING!!! Ok?

ReplyDeleteIt is so annoying how whenever we pull out the camera it stops. One time when we were in class I had to look away it was so bad. I swear that half the time when I close my eyes and see colors, the colors are really just the smart board seizures in my head.
I don't really think that it is the smart board knowing when to stop, I think that it is just the wiring. I mean come on there is no such thing as a smart board soul. There is probably a scientific reason why it always stops when it does.
Good idea to do this as a blog. Maybe we will finally get our board fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is true, its stop flickering when Big Ham try to record it...And that is kind of weird.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care about the color of the smartboard as long as it works and we can see it for me its all good. And all the smartboards in our school do that like change colors and be blury for a little bit so you don't need to worry about that so much.

Smart board seizures are usual but smart board having eyes and brain like a human is weird. I think the first question that pops into every mind that reads this is'how does IT know when to stop flickering and when to start it and annoy the teacher by stopping when the teacher tries to take a video to prove this problem to the technicians?'(oof that was a big question).

I know, this Shtick is ridiculous. I thought that they were called smart boards were called SMART for a reason, all that they've ever done for us is cost money and malfunction. Then again, they do have a brain, whenever the big ham gets out the camera, it stops immediately. All that we really needed was a projector, hooked it up to a computer, and then put them over a white board, and BOOM, smart board, but oh no, "we just HAVE TO HAVE the newest, most useless gadget that will break half the time", it's ridiculous.

I do not know why the tech guy has not come in for it but yes I have noticed that whenever the Big Ham goes to take a video of it, it will stop flickering.

As the days grow longer, the SMART Board becomes more rude. (And by rude, I mean IT WILL FLICKER!!) However, it won't flicker at times. What's worse is that when the Tech guy comes in to check on it, THE SMART BOARD STOPS FLICKERING!!! If The Big HAM were to get a video of the SMART Board flickering, then we would be without a SMART Board that FLICKERS!!! The problem is WE NEED MORE WITNESSES FOR THIS TO WORK!!!!! Got it???

I think it is kind of funny to see the smart baord having a seizures becuase everytime we are going to catch it red handed, it always stop. It is kind of like it has a mind of it own and it does not want to be fixed at all, if you ask me it is kind of creepy. However, when we pull out the camera or try to call someone to come down here it starts to behave. It is kind of like a child, when a child is misbehaving you will give them a warning. Usually they will stop, also they probably stop if you give them a treat.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, when the smart baord is having a seizures it is sometimes is very funny. Sometimes it is frustating but I do not really pay attendtion to all the seizures. Most of the time, I just ignore it and I focus on my work. But sometimes it is creepy.

ReplyDeleteIt does seem a bit coincidental that when I take my video camera out, it stops. I don't believe in ghosts but I think it's playing a little game with me. Enough to drive me so crazy one day that I might end up with a seizure!
I suspect that it's the wiring behind the wall that's causing many of our problems.
With you guys as my witnesses, I am determined that the SMART Board will be fixed by the end of the year!

OMG! I hate it when the smart has seizures! Its like its not smart at all. Its so weird, it goes blue and then purple. Also, when we want to video tape it for the repair guy, it always stops right when we say it. So i guess it is smart......

It is a color wheel problem and you should send it back to Smart. They will replace the entire projector if it is under warranty.
