The internet can be dangerous. But it's basically going to be our lives starting in junior high because you need to get a computer that's good. Instead of doing your work on paper you can do it all on your device. And if you don't have one well you will have to do everything the old fashion way with paper and pens. I'm going to get a computer though because I'm smart that way.
Back to the internet is dangerous It can be dangerous because of spam and there is dangerous people on the internet that can hack you and steal your information if you fall for the spam. Or if there is a hacker they will steal your account on something. Or just break your computer on the inside and give you virus. There is also online bullying and predators who seek out people to hurt.
But it can be a good thing. You can do research on the computer. You can do work faster and you can play games on it.

What a great post, MrJamHam13! This topic is very relevant to kids today because you're already using the Internet now; it's not just junior high school.
ReplyDeleteI often ask myself what we did before the invention of the Internet. When I wanted to know something before I either had to look it up in a book or ask someone who knew about the topic. Usually however, I wouldn't have a reference book handy or else there was no one around that knew all the answers. Now I all have to do is Google it and I will usually find the answer. We are so used to getting information instantly that we become very impatient when we have to wait for an answer.
My guilty pleasure on the Internet is online shopping. Stores that Canadians never had access to are all on the World Wide Web waiting to gladly take my money. You have to be somewhat careful though because there are a lot of stories you hear where your credit card information can get stolen and used illegally.
Other sites I use are Facebook I read various blogs from people around the world. I also use it to do online banking as I find it very convenient. Some people don't trust banking on the Internet but I think that there are enough measures in place to protect your money from getting stolen (not that there's much money in my account anyway).
As with anything else, you have to be careful on the Internet when you're browsing for something. I've innocently typed in something that I want to research and my browser has come up with something that's completely inappropriate and which I didn't intend to witness.
On a side note, keep in mind that anything you do on the computers at school is tracked by the school board. So that site or image that you are sneaking a peek at but know is probably not appropriate for school is recorded and entered into your file. Do that enough times and you will probably find yourself without access for the rest of your school career. Be aware of what you are doing on the Internet!
Lastly, I have to say I spend way too much time surfing the Web. I'm an adult so my Internet usage, of course, is not restricted. Sometimes I wish someone would say that I can't use it so because I find that I'm wasting my life away sometimes when I could be doing something so much more productive.
I think the internet is a wonderland! Because you have endless possibilities. You can do work, play games, and look at videos. More or whatever kind of weird stuff you do on it I don't really want to know.
ReplyDeleteI mostly use the internet for playing games or for school. I like a website called Youtube. If you don't know about it its where you watch videos. I dont have a computer anymore because my cat spilt water on it and that made me really sad.
I just wanted to add this in I want to be a programmer when I grow so my life is literally going to be internet. Like I can do some petty advanced stuff so call me up as you internet man thing.
I know I don't have a computer. But I use my moms so technically its mine. I don't have restrictions on my computer. Because my mom knows what job I want so I do research for 3 hours. And then play games on it for 1 hour. And then it goes on. Yes I spend way to much time on the internet BUT DON'T JUDGE.

I really like the Internet it is really useful. I think it can be bad on some online games such as: Call Of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Black Ops etc. IT is very useful. You can search up stuff like "cats" and you get CATS.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite site is probably andkon arcade. It is blocked on this computer though. I also really like Cool Math Games, Total Jerk Face. I like these sites because they have lots of different games. My favourite game is Terraria but you have to download it.
My internet is not restricted at home because my Mom does not know how to. I spend way too much time on the internet sometimes but I usually do not go on the Internet.

I have a computer in home but I don't use it home because my mother is still setting it up. When it's set up I will be allowed to do anything I want on it.

I think the Internet is useful and it is fun. I think it is useful and fun because you can research stuff and download stuff. I think it is also fun because you can play and download games. The internet can also be dangerous. It can be dangerous because some other person could go and hack your computer or laptop. Luckily, our family has downloaded something that can tell you if a virus has been detected. It is called Avast. When it detects a virus or something like that, it makes quite a loud beeping noise and it says "THREAT HAS BEEN DETECTED!!"
ReplyDeleteThere is pretty much only one website that I browse on. I don't know if you guys have heard of Minecraft. But, I visit a website where you can download a whole bunch of Minecraft Modifiers. A Minecraft Modifier is a thing that you can download and put into your Minecraft game. All modifiers are different. One is even a Paintball modifier! It adds a lot of guns that shoot paint. I usually shoot some pigs or sheep!
My Internet time is restricted at home. The time that we can play for is until my mom yells at me and my brother. Which is about 3 hours straight. Even when I play for like 4 or 5 hours straight, I usually start to get bored and start to think that it was just a waste of time. I wouldn't say I spend too much time on the internet. I say I spend too much time on Minecraft.

Trolls used to be helpers but now they hack into peoples accounts and take all their stuff and find out where they live and take all their money. Facebook is a site that if you put where you live on it you can be robbed from your account. ReplyDeleteI browse on Nitrome, Youtube and Cookie Cliker. Nitrome is a site that you play games only from Nitrome such as Ditto, Flue, Change Type() and many more. I dont really need to explain Youtube because many people go on the site. Cookie Clicker is a site that you get cookies by either cliking the cookie or get things on the shop. You can get it by having the enough cookies or having more. The things you can get if you had 1 trillion cookes you could get Cursors, Grandmas, farms, factories, Mines, Shipments, Portals, Antimatter Condensers and Prisms!
I have no restrictions because my Mom does not care. I can go on any site when I want to. My computer time is not restricted either.

The reason most thief's send an Email to you from banks is that they will strike rich with the amount of money that person has or at least get twenty dollars.
ReplyDeleteI love Notdoppler because it has the Impossible Quiz 1/2 it is my favourite site by far. It is so hard yet addicting and fun. It also has many other games like parking and more stuff. The games are almost make me rage a lot.
My Internet is not restricted but I have to stop at 9:00 pm every day but weekends then it is any time on Friday and 3:00 am. I spend way too much time on the Internet will using Youtube. It is from 3:30 to 9:00 pm. My mom has no clue how to set restrictions without it messing it for her.

ReplyDeleteI don't spend too much time on the computer and the only time I spend time on the computer is when I'm with my dad. I play 3 hours on the computer at the library and it's only on weekends.
Plus there is lying and U Tube is bad there is bad things and I've witnesed bad videos because my friend keeps calling me over. I look and see the horror and I watched and bad swearing video when I was 8 and 9 and it had swearing lots of mindless killing and blood. My mom has a no killing people rule and no inappropriate videos and no swearing. On swearing rule my dad has a no swearing rule as well and no mindless killing but I snuck a game by him called more and more mindless violence when you shoot bug heads and it's very bloody and violent. Ok I have shooting games on my ipod.
AND THE WORST THING ABOUT THE INTERNET IS THAT IF YOU POST ANYTHING ON IT, IT'S ON THERE FOREVER, EVER, EVER.
