You know how every day we check that one device, whether it’s a phone, laptop, or any other electronic device? Don’t you ever get tired of the same old Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter? Don’t those things ever get old to you? Yeah, sometimes they can be fun, but then after a while they’re just plain boring! I mean, don’t you ever have one of those days that are just boring? And you think, hey! I’ll go on my device! And you can be on there from 30 minutes to 4 hours! But.. is it really fun? At the start, it can be really fun! But then, you start feeling tired, or you start getting headaches, and trust me, that’s not fun!
Here’s an example: It’s a beautiful day outside, and all of your friends are playing at the park, you could have a nice ride there, but there is your phone, or tablet sitting on the table. What do you choose? Go to the park and see your friends, or play on your device? I’m pretty sure it would be going to the park. And if you made a new friend and they had a phone, would you text to talk, or plan to go out somewhere to talk and have fun? Wouldn’t it be the second one? What does all this technology do to us?
I think we don’t have the same imagination anymore, and we don’t know how to talk any more. Or worse, we can’t spell words correctly because we have auto correct! I like to see friends, I like to play with friends, And I like to talk on the phone with them. Sure technology is fun sometimes, but not all the time, or every day. The motto in my house is “ Live in the moment, NOT on your electronic!”
-sillybrownie
BLOGGER OF THE WEEK
This is a great post, silly brownie! Lots of people won't admit it but they are addicted to their devices.
ReplyDeleteJust think, you can pretty much do anything on a device these days, including pay a bill, watch a video and communicate with anybody. Not only that, but my phone will allow me to online shop, find any place on the planet and I can pay for groceries on my phone too. In fact, the one thing I don't use my phone for is to actually talk to people.
I'm embarrassed to say that I have many devices, only one of which I use regularly. I have a couple of iPads, two unused Blackberries, an iPhone 6s and many other electronics that are no longer relevant (such as my portable CD player and Walkman!)
People are SO addicted to technology these days. How often do you walk down the street and notice people always looking down at their phones?! Even when they're crossing the street! I know for a fact, people take their phones into the bathroom and use them! I might be one of those people, too!
The only way to solve the addiction to technology is to force people to speak to each other face-to-face. Only use your device when you need to. We have a long way to go.
~The BIG HAM
Agreed, The BIG HAM! It's very easy to allow yourself to be stuck to your device. I once walked into a pole because I was typing on my phone. That day I learned a very valuable lesson: stay off your phone when you need to pay attention to what you're doing! Since that day I've been very careful to not be on my phone unless it's necessary.
DeleteI love your family's house motto, silly brownie. I think we'll use it at our house too.
-The Jay Bird
I LOVE TECHNOLOGY AND DEVICES because I just think its fun and I'm always on it every time. I usually use YouTube, Musically, Minecraft and Snapchat (camera stuff. I also love taking selfies to show off how cute I am, just kidding. The only things I don't like about technology is that I got glasses because I use my phone, computer, etc and another things is that when they have NO WIFI AND INTERNET especially when they are LOW BATTERY which I hate! What's the point of charging a cellphone with a charger instead can't it just charge by itself? I wish a cellphone would have food that gives you because I could take anything from Mcdonalds or Burger King if it's going to be real in the future I will become more addicted to devices like that!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of devices at home! We have five computers, three laptops, seven cellphones, Wii U ( Nintendo)! I always watch t.v and I heard we're going to get another one which is great! My parents does not give me a limit of time on our devices. In fact my mom and dad uses devices to go on social medias and stuff so we mostly have our free time. Even my brother has a phone too. Except when we're really naughty, bad or grounded they usually hide our phones, video games and actually play with it which is a horrible time of my life!
People are ADDICTED to technology because Google, YouTube and other apps helps them with something even Siri! My parents say that its better to read a book than believe in the Google internet because sometime the internet is becoming lies and other things that aren't true.
We or I can solve this problem by hiding our cellphones by our parents and get grounded or try and go play and see the wonderful nature because back then in Philippines my dad had a lot of fun with nature because they would catch frogs, bugs, flies, fireflies and lots of things I didn't get to experience. Meanwhile these days kids are just spending time on a block of device and playing something (including me) why not spend the day and see how nature is great!
~tsumtsum
I love devices because you can do basically anything you can:research things, entertain yourself by watching you-tube, listening to music. I like to listen to music when I am cleaning my room.
ReplyDeleteI have two devices: a tablet and a laptop. I spend like no time on my laptop because I use it to do homework. That's kind of it. I spend 1-2 hours on my tablet a day. I normally watch You Tube, search up stuff when I am bored, and listen to music with Spotify.
Yes, I think lots of people are addicted to technology. Some people spend 2-12 hours on devices. Of course I don't.
You can solve this problem by limiting someone's time on electronics. You can also set up play dates without your kids knowing. My dad does that so I am forced to interact with real life people.
¬purple tacos
I am not addicted to them. I can go on them for two hours max but then I just get bored and go outside. With devises it can be useful by looking things up on GOOGLE. I don't think I could go without them though. Maybe a day or three, but otherwise NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.
ReplyDeleteI do have not many devises. I have a iPod and a t.v. in the living room. I spend about 10-30 minutes because I study for 2-3 hours and then have supper for 1 and a half hours and then wash the dishes and finally play Rummy with my grandma then play on my iPod.
I think 99% of people are addicted to electronics and spend like 1111111111111111111111100000000000000000009999999999999 minutes on their things. It's stupid why can't you just play outside. You do know that there is something called a sun and outside, right? We can solve this problem by DESTROYING ALL DEVISES, except for mine.
~nonameman
Devices are the greatest thing ever! I search up soccer players and are good at soccer skills and live soccer games because I can learn by seeing skills.
ReplyDeleteI have a Nintendo 3DS, an X-box 360 and my own favourite of them all is my tablet. It is the only one that has a Pokemon game and it is really fun. I mostly get 1 hour and then it's my little brother's turn.
I am addicted to my device. Yes people are probably addicted as well. People say how do we solve this? I have no clue. I like my device too much.
~ Bob The Unicorn
Devices are awesome! For a year we couldn't play on electronics because when we were in Mexico, we were packing up and my brother slid it on the bathroom tiles and it was very cracked. It still works, but my parents took it away because it could hurt us. Then a year later, My grandma bought 3 Ipads for us. The black one is my grandmas, the green one is mine, and purple one is my sister's. My brother wasn't supposed to have one but he started to play one the laptop. Sometimes I get bored of them so I just go on my trampoline, play in my garage, ride my bike in the back alley, play soccer, play basketball, play with with chalk, or I just spot shapes in the clouds. My parents try to keep us of the electronics most of the time now that I have to study, so it seems to be working. Me and my sister also invented the game called Bounce x2 because its one the trampoline. Its basically were you put a bunch of balls on the trampoline, bounce, and they can't touch you. My brother hates it because we use his blue ball all the time.
ReplyDeleteIn my house we have 3 Ipads, 2 phones, 5 T.Vs, ( Only 2 of them belong to us) and 2 computers. On my Ipad I spend about 2 hours everyday. I spend most of it on a game called Sims freeplay, while listening to music. My brother could spend his whole life in front of a screen. He learns how to fight from there with these weird evil supervillian cartoons. So I told my parents to put him in karate instead of soccer.
I think lots of people are addicted to technology. We can stop this by making nature more prettier. Then people would want to spend more time outside. And if we could control the weather we could make it hot and cold.
~POUTINE GROOT
I think devices are very good because I never get bored of them. The only time I get bored of my phone is no one has uploaded on YouTube or I have know new games. Or when no one is online on my Xbox. Some times I don't get bored because I'm playing a really fun game or there's just nothing else to do upstairs. Recently I have not been playing very much Xbox because my controller has been broken for about two months and have not had time to go get another one. Some times I get bored because I'm failing in a game so I get mad and turn my phone off.
ReplyDeleteI only have two devices: a Xbox and a phone. I don't have a time limit because normally because it gets boring eventually. Normally I only use like two to four hours a day and then go watch TV with my family for a while. If my parents are not home I'll normally just keep playing.
I think people are really addicted to technology because and when my older bother turns off the TV when some when gets mad at him. I think if you want to not be addicted to electronics you should find something different to do like go to the park or go bike riding. I think I'm probably going to go biking around the neighborhood.
~BillNyetheScienceGuy
I think devices are the best because they complete your life and they solve all your problemes because if you are mad grab out your phone and then start playing and then all your thoughts are eaten up by your phone and you have no more problems for the rest of your life.
ReplyDeleteI have 1 tablet, 2 X-boxes, 1 computer, and 1 ipad and I am allowed on them for at least 7 hours a day or more because my parents have no problems with me playing electronics.
I think people are addicted to electronics and if you want to solve that problem solve it yourself or let them play even more.
~thedumbcow
I like my devices! I love going on YouTube to listen to music.
ReplyDeleteI have a phone and an Ipad at home. And I enjoy working on the chrome books at school.
I think most people are addicted to technology. I know I love my Ipad and I would be sad if my dad took it away.At home I "play" but at school I use technology to help me learn reading, writing and math.
~tire swing girl
I love technology and devices. It is very useful for example when you don't know something most of the times you just search it up in Google. If you use your devices all the the time it just loses its effect. For me it doesn't seem to get boring YET, because my parents let me only use it when I am done my homework.
ReplyDeleteUsually since I don't get that much homework I spend a lot of time on my devices. I have an Iphone 4s, Iphone 6s, a huge tablet, a Polaroid camera and a laptop. My parents don't let me take my Iphone 6s to school because I may lose it but I can take my Iphone 4s to school because even if I lose it, it won't be that precious. The apps I use a lot are: YouTube, Instagram, Choices and Mr. Krab.
I am so ADDICTED to devices and I think many other people are ADDICTED too. I think some people don't even know what the word outside means! I know a way that might help people to step away from their devices. Their parents should hide their devices for a day and tell them to go "outside".
-fungirl
Devices are stupid because they wreck your eyes.
ReplyDeleteI have an iPad,and a TV, and am getting a mp3, and I have an Xbox 360.
People are addicted to phones because they would rather sit on the toilet and wreck their phones.
~pokemon
I think electronics are OK, but I get bored. Luckily, I am now more of a reader which is good because I can actually feel like I'm in the place and the electronics doesn't really make me feel like I'm in the place.
ReplyDeleteHere is all of my electronics in my house: computer, T.V. and tablet. Yes, not much, but we have two T.V.s and tablets.
I normally spend at least five hours on my electronics, but I am only estimating, maybe more, maybe less.
I think I am a little bit addicted to electronics, OK really addicted, and same with lots of people ESPECIALLY my brother, because we went to our cabin and it had no WIFI and he was upset.
But here is some ways to solve the problem of too much technology. This is the way I am not on the electronics so much. Reading and you can also go outside and spend time with your friends, and that is all I can think of.
-puppydoggy84
I love devices because if there's nothing to do you can play games on your phone or on something different like a computer. And when I don't have nothing to do I will grab my phone or when I don't know a question for home work I will search it up on Google.
ReplyDeleteI have a computer and a phone, iPad tablet and a Xbox. My Mom and Dad lets us on our phones all we want to but we have to go outside for 1 hour.
~l8tercopper
I love technology. It is the thing that I always play when I come home from school. We are lucky that we are living in the present because I would not want to be in the olden days. We have to use paper notes that is horrifying.
ReplyDelete~puppylover
I think a device is the BEST! thing ever. I have YouTube, Instagram, all social media and I listen to music. I only have Instagram. I love it! I can text my friend that lives in Medicine Hat. They never get old. You can learn to for example:I need to know something, I can search Google.
ReplyDeleteI have a Phone, TV and ps3. I spend 2-6 hours a day. That's on games, texting, buying and searching the internet everything includes.
I think everyone's addicted to electronics no matter video games or watching stuff or searching stuff. I'm addicted to technology. It makes sense but no one wants to admit it because they think its horrible but I don't admit I'm addicted to my video game. I think the way we can help this is probably to just let it be and they will get bored.
~freakymcgee
I sort of like technology but when I am very bored then I want to play on my Ipod because I can watch YouTube but technology is okay. I sort of sometimes want to crush my ipod because it will not work AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have one iPod that usually is amazing but sometimes my ipod is a piece of crap!!!!!! But I also have a computer/ipad. They are both awesome but I don't spend that much time on them, only usually 20 minutes!!! so little right?
Some people are so addicted that they think that it's their little baby. Yay, that's true. I have seen someone with their phone in a stroller. So crazy, right? What if phones were babies? So crazy. What if there was a new phone called baby phone.
~snoopy2
For the first time, in a long time, I don't know what to write about. Or, I have a different idea, I might go off topic for the next couple of paragraphs. So, the device itself? Or the apps on it. I'm going to go for both! The device itself is taking over human lives. I get a headache if I go on it for a long time, no matter what the device is! I limit my time. Sometimes. See, the thing is, electronics are something you can get addicted to very easily. There's all the talk of people getting into accidents here and there, all because of phones. The things on the device? Even worse. Now, I might have these apps and the device. And I may seem like a hypocrite. I know. But I'm going to talk about the apps instead of my hypocritical actions.
ReplyDeleteThere is a little thing called cyberbully, its just a thing that exists. Bystanders. Yes, they exist too. Sad, but true. They also, believe it or not, exist on the internet. So many people who are jerks, hypocrites, bullies and much more lie there waiting for you at the end of the tunnel called the internet. It's a dangerous place. They think that just because they have a user and make 'anonymous' comment on the internet, we can't find them. Oh, but we can. It will be fun in the beginning, but you will find things, just like I have. It might disturb you, hurt you, make you happy or sad. It just isn't safe.
Honestly, the only thing I use my phone for is for FaceTime, since my mom won't let me go to her house by myself, music, and Wattpad. And even that is unsafe. You can't put a filter on it to make it safe. For example, Instagram. I saw this one boy post a picture of himself and said, "Please, I know I'm not the best looking, I might be a bit chubby, but try not to be mean please:)". First comment, "How many people in that picture". That is just messed up. Fact.
I mostly, only really use my phone. For music, WattPad and FaceTime. I have to admit, I am addicted.
People, of course, are addicted to electronics. Now I'm no genius, so I'll leave the part of curing it to a more intelligent, smart person then me. Your's truly,
~Diddly Squat
I like electronics. They are okay. I think they were invented to rot kids brains. They are here to make you lazy. I think that I don't like them more then school because you don't come home and go on them for the rest of the day you have energy to go play prank your friends but lots of people will not admit it or confess they love it.
ReplyDeleteI have a tablet. I do not go on it for more then three hours a day even if it means 1 hour at lunch, dinner, breakfast then okay I love them yes. But I don,t spend a lot of time on them. I use them for YouTube, Netflix, Email, music and games.
Yes people are addicted and they will not admit it. 99 percent of people get hurt because they are crossing the street with them or they are playing Pokemon Go. Even you will drop them in the toilet because they are on their phones or the most funny thing ever you walk in on your sister on the toilet listening to music. Then she drops it. I think you have to install a laser in the phone so if you use it or used it to much already it will shock you and tell you let go.
~icecreamlover
I agree with this new blog. I don't like technology because they waste your time. I have a phone, a tablet and my whole family shares a computer. There are two reasons that I use the electronics for.
ReplyDeleteNumber one is that I mostly use it for Skype. Mostly for online classes. I take them on French and Russian. I speak Russian, but my mom wants me to be better at it. I take French so that I can fully speak in it. I take French at school and at online learning. I can even say some sentences! I already made a couple stories in French. One is called le gateu and it is about a cake. When my mom made a huge cake and I made a house in it. She gets sad so I made a bigger cake for her. In a different story (I forgot the name because it was a long time ago). In the story I wanted to live in a world that is 100% food. I keep eating, and eating, and eating. Then I ended up in a food world! And in my last story is when a cat makes a fish soup and the city nearly exploded from the horrible smell.
And the second thing I like to do in the computer is a awesome game called... Guess. Okay. I'll tell you. City Skyline. It is the only game I play. I made a city on the computer with a population of 60 000! It looks like a ordinary city with schools, hospitals, fire stations, police, parks, and lots more. I even have a airport, railway, buses, and a spot were people can come to my city on ship. I have work, factories, big comortial, small comortial, and homes. There are farms too!
~birdynumnum#1256
I NEVER GET TIRED! OF TECHNOLOGY. It's amazing how it's made. It's cool. I use my iPad for YouTube, and games. I would do a lot of things for my iPad. I would shoot my foot or arm. People say they would kill them selves but how would you use it? It makes no sense. You kill yourself, how do you use it?
ReplyDelete~thedump
I think devices are helpful and pretty handy sometimes. Also you can play games and watch something in phones, ipads, and tablets. But I kind of hate when devices are down on low battery and you have to charge them sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI have Snapchat,Twitter, and Instagram. But I spend on them at one or two hours because I don't want to waste any more time on electronics. It's mostly three or four hours.
~thing1
I think technology is a big waste of time because why can't you just talk face to face personally. When I get in a fight that's when I text a friend to apolijise or when I am making plans to go out.
ReplyDeleteI have a tablet and a phone but I don't rely on theam at all. I use a dictionary and for (YouTube) I use a DVD OR A VCR!!!!!
Tell your parents to dissconeckt the wifi!!!!!!!!!!!!Like mine did!!!
___--gracie1on1--__
I think devices are handy because you can do a quick Google search on them or download an app or you can use them for many other purposes.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of devices including a phone, two 3ds and two tablets. I spend 1-7 hours a day on them but my mom is cutting that time down a bit.
I think people are addicted to technology but we should not make phone charger underwear because that is going too far. You might think this is a problem with all this technology but if someone wanted to stop all this they could make a anti-virus with a virus that can spread over WIFI and Bluetooth but that would hurt people with phone charging underwear like me.
~CounsumedCactus5
I think that devices are the best thing in the universe because you get to put games on it and also because they have Google. I like to watch videos because I need to know what to do on that game or want to do or something. Devices are good for your brain where as reading is bad for your brain.
ReplyDeleteI have a iPod nano, mp3 player, pc phone and a monitor but I usually play on the monitor because that's the only one that has Hello Neighbor Alfa 1 and Garrys mod and World of Warcraft and those games are the only ones that are fun.
I think that the solution is to play on it more.
~MARKIPLIER:)
I like devices, but sometimes I get bored because I go on my laptop all day and watch YouTube. But sometimes I love to go on it. If there's no WiFi I go on the camera and edit pictures. My dad doesn't get why we need a phone because every time I ask him for a phone he says, "Why do you need it, you don't have to phone anyone?" I hate it when he says that because some phones can't phone anyone but he says it's not a phone. But he doesn't use his phone for phoning too.
ReplyDeleteI have a Ds, a Play Station 3, a Play Station 4, two tablets,
two laptops, a computer, ipad, two camera. I have a couple of old Nintendos that I forgot the name of.
We should have never invented phones with screens on it! Instead we should invented device without a screen.
~kitkatsmitsmat
I think technology is the best thing in the world because it has Google so I can Google something that I do not know, play any games such as ROBLOX and many more games and talk to people and watch YouTube.
ReplyDeleteI have a computer, iPad, PSV, Xbox. I think with all of my technology would be timed as one hour.
Yes I think they are addicted. I think this is how you solve
the addicted. Stop! Take all their technology and never give it back ever again.
~soldierboy
1.I thought about devices. You need WiFi. I'm watching YouTube and I listen music.
ReplyDelete2.I have an ipad. I use it 6:30-7:30.
3.I have no clue about how to solve the addiction of devices.
