Taekwondo is a martial art where we learn self-defence techniques. They teach us how to jump, kick and even spin-kick.
I really like this sport. Both my brother and I take lessons. I enjoy doing taekwondo but sometimes my brother is lazy and he doesn’t want to go to his lesson. My mom does not like when my brother is lazy.
In the Philippines, I started to practice more after school. I was 7 years old when I started. I started taekwondo when I was in grade 1 and my brother started in grade one too when I was not born yet. My brother is a higher black belt than me but my goal is to get a black belt. I’m still at a black strip. I practice this sport five time in a week for one or two hours.
It started as my passion or my hobby and immediately me and my family found a taekwondo center. Every Wednesday I help teach little kids like 3 to 6 years of age.
In our class and other classes we do 60 minutes on the weekend, Sometimes we do not have a taekwondo but I do exercise and my brother is too lazy to exercise.
What do you think about taekwondo? Why would it be important to learn self-defence? What extracurricular activities do you do after school?

BLOGGER OF THE WEEK
I'm already in Cheer so I'm not really interested. I mean it sounds fun but my brother teaches me Karate. So I'll be fine if anything happens.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be important to know self defense because what if someone tries to kidnap you? Or break into your house? You can knock them out for a few minutes and get the police. If you are getting bullied you can defend yourself. If I were to get mugged and I had my key I'd stab them then I would kick them in the knees. And if I were to get kidnapped first, I would kick the person where the sun don't shine then I would try to get out of their grip or car.
Some extracurricular activities I do out of school is ice skating. I usually go with my dad and his girlfriend. It gets really fun once you know how to, I learned how to skate in two weeks! We go to Victoria Park. It has a fun trail we can go on and a gazebo in the middle.

I think that taekwondo is great for flexible kids, not like me but
ReplyDeleteother kids. I would not do taekwondo because I will not teach little children like my brother because they like to play and fool around a lot and I will not like to hear crying. It's too annoying.
You should learn self defense because if someone broke in to your house what would you do and if i were you I would be RKO-ing and uppercutting the person. So if you don't learn self defense I would run if I were you.
I usually do nothing after school. I just go home, lie on my couch and watch WWE to learn more fighting skills.

I think Taekwondo is a waste of time. Personally I would rather
ReplyDeletespend my time learning something that improves my smarts, for
example: coding and machinery!
I don't think you would need to learn any type of self defense.
I mean you could just outwit them.
I don't do any extracurricular activities because my dad does
not put me in any.

I think taekwondo is a good sport and activity to do for all of the kids in the world because we can learn how to self-defence our selves.
ReplyDeleteIt's important that we can learn how to self-defence our selves because if some guy is attacking you, you already know what you're going to do. Another example is if someone broke into your house then you already know what to do.
My extracurricular activity that I do after school is exercising for 40 or 60 minutes at home with my dad but sometimes my dad is lazy to exercise. The exercise that I do is 10 push-ups, burpees and more.

I think taekwondo is very useful in some cases. For example if someone is trying to shoot you and you don't have a weapon to defend you would be able to disarm the shooter.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes play baseball after school but other than that I don't do anything after school.

I think taekwondo is cool because you can learn to kick jump and more. It sounds like it would be fun there.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to learn self-defence because if a stranger kidnaps you, you can kick them and punch them to save yourself.
My mom didn't put me in any activities yet.

I think that taekwondo is great for self defense.

I not like taekwondo.
ReplyDeleteI will hit them and then take me.
Some activities I do are playing, sliding, play toys, and play Lego.

I think that taekwondo would be fun. Also sometimes I would not have any time because the book said that it was five days a week.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to learn self-defence because then you can learn how to protect yourself. So if someone breaks into your house you know what to do.
After I eat dessert I get a sugar rush and I go crazy.

I think that taekwondo is a good sport to pass the time and have fun too but sometimes it is a little to loud for me that's why I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is important to learn self-defence because you can learn how to defend yourself and be better at it.
After school I go to gymnastics on Thursdays for three hours every time and sometimes my mom and my dad teach me more after school too. But sometimes my brother wants to do it with me but my mom says only until he grows up.
~camila
I think taekwondo is a fun activity to do.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to learn how to defend yourselves.
Sometimes I go swimming with Papa. In the summer I ride by bike outside. I go play at the park with Mom and have fun on the swings.
-Spiderman
I think taekwondo is okay. I don't think I would like to do taekwondo because I don't know how to do anything with punching and stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to know self-defense so if a z person comes and tries to attack you, you can defend yourself.
I do cheer after school on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
~blueberry
I have no attachment to taekwondo. I don't do it, it doesn't interest me,and quite frankly I don't have time.
ReplyDeleteBut, it is still important to know how to defend yourself. For example, if you had been texting with SOMEONE on the internet and they told you to meet them at the front of a school, but not tell anyone. Let's say you go,and as you go onto the playground the person you were texting jumps out and tries to capture you. If you know how to defend yourself then you could probably escape.

ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to do Taekwando but unfortunately I can't because we don't have time and we're busy! But if I go to my brother's taekwando then I could!
I would only learn self-defence if someone broke in our house or something else like someone kiddnapped me!
I mostly do just swimming and maybe gymnastics too, soon! On swimming lessons I mostly will ask to go extra because I just want to have fun.....nothing else! I wanted to go swimming for a long time so I did it all my years! It's just because I love water, how it feels on your body! I love mostly moving around like I'm drunk and I always call my self drunk if I'm crazy! I run around, jump on the couch, jump down I even do it ANYWHERE! I'm like actually crazy crazy! Oh and I do activities at school too!

ReplyDeleteI think taekwondo is a pretty good self defence technique like wu-shu,jujitsu and kungfu. I assume that self-defence is a great defence because if you were to be threatend right now you could strike them and potentially wound them and get the po-po.
I don`t do any extracurricular after school but on Saturday I have swimming lessons.

ReplyDeleteI think that taekwondo is maybe a lot of hard work with doing it by yourself or teaching younger kids younger than you. Taekwondo would all be hard but at the same time it is kind of a hard thing to do. I would never do taekwondo.
I do cheer leading and that takes 4 or 5 times a week. I have two classmates in my class that do cheer leading. I am the younger one out of us three. I have been doing cheer for a very long time. I am hoping I can do cheer leading till I am like 21 years old or 22 years old. I hope if I do taekwondo I hope I can do so much like my friend in my class. She is so good and so awesome too.
I need to learn, well kind of learn how to do self-defence because in my house our power goes off every day and once I think that someone tried to break in my family's house. It was scary. Me and my family is a really big family. We have 8 people in my family. We have 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 birds and my skark as well too.
~Silly19
What I think about takewando is protecting myself and protecting
ReplyDeletemy house and protecting my family.
I don't have any extra activities. I only have it at summer time
and at spring time and at fall.
